Hiding behing the obscurity of a common name, Becky Anderson has worked in the computer industry since the web was text-only, while using her anonymity to masquerade as a non-geek with interests in business, finance, language, richly textured music and prose, and mild athletics.

If it's not obvious already, I love language. English or otherwise. I believe that communication can be artistic at the same time that it is being functional (actually conveying the intended idea or information). I need to brush up my Italian (I'm probably only kindergarten level right now), and I'd like to learn Greek and Japanese.

  • I currently volunteer with a SeattleWorks team. I want to volunteer with Project_Gutenberg, and with Doctors Without Borders.
  • I design and write software for my day-job.
  • I have participated (twice) in NaNoWriMo, but I've haven't finished a "novel".
  • I love to read sci-fi, for the social-architecting more than the spaceships and laserguns.

I should probably create a political blog somewhere. Living in a "blue state", I predictably lean somewhat to the left.

By Day[edit]

I currently masquerade as an engineer and a manager. I believe this job uses my amateur interest in psychology as much as my highly-trained engineering skills.

I am named on 3 [patents], as Rebecca L. Anderson: [(1)] [(2)] [(3)].
