Hello, I'm from London and I've decided to have a go at editing and maybe creating some entries on this encyclopaedia after trying out fixing a few entries incognito.

I am afflicted with the curse of being particularly pedantic about spelling and links, so I am hoping that copy editing a few things will help me get it out of my system. I don't know what the rule is about British English and US English spellings, but I will try to avoid accidentally "correcting" any words like that. I've already spelt encyclopaedia "wrong" so this is an inauspicious start.

Hi MrH, welcome here. You shouldn't worry too much about the UK vs. US spelling problems. Usually, we let the original editors' spelling stand, unless it is inconsistent or inappropriate at that place, since changing everything to one spelling would only lead to changing it back by others, and that is getting us nowhere. However, many articles are in need of spelling corrections, be it UK or US spelling, and all efforts to improve that are appreciated, since not everybody enjoys correcting spelling. I thought as much. Cheers. This Wiki stuff really is brilliantly easy to use.

Hi MrH -- Welcome and be a pedant if you wish. As long as you're correct and consistent, nobody will mind much. Interesting football articles, BTW! JHK

Cheers, I'm not that picky, actually. I'm doing the Spanish football ones to practise my translation, which is why they sometimes look a bit odd. At least I cannot be accused of violating any copyrights.

I don't know if you're sympathetic to this cause, but I need support in trying to keep football at football. They want to move it to soccer, please see talk:list of footballers. Mintguy 10:24 Feb 19, 2003 (UTC)
