Actual title?[edit]

According to Metal Archives, this album is self-titled. That would make the sign "Welcome to Sky Valley" just part of the cover art. The spine of the CD case (as shown here) just says "Kyuss", which is consistent with being self-titled. Same goes with the CD itself. Thoughts? --Anonymous Contributor

There's plenty of debate, but for what it's worth I call it just "Sky Valley" (without the "Welcome To"). I've spent some time thumbing through Elektra's website in the google cache and the wayback machine and it's always referred to as "Sky Valley." I've also read some interviews with members of the band and they called it "Sky Valley" in all of the interviews I found. There should definitely be some mention of the debate in this article as it's difficult to find a review of the album anymore that DOESN'T mention it to some degree. I just checked that link to metal-archives.com and without a link or reference to an interview where someone from the band says it was "really" self-titled, I don't buy it as conclusive in any way shape or form. I'd venture to guess that *I* spent more time researching this, and I'm by no means the biggest Kyuss fan out there. The fact is, unless I've overlooked something, there's no "real" answer, only a bunch of fan opinions, so the best move is to just mention the debate in the article and make sure things like "Kyuss (album)," "Sky Valley," and "Welcome To Sky Valley" redirect here. The jacket for the promo vinyl says "pre-release sampler from the album 'Sky Valley'" and the sticker on the actual record says "Sky Valley, Part 2." The cassette tape says "Sky Valley" at the top of each side. 11 Feb 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.116.26.196 (talk) 02:22, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Promo Tracklisting[edit]

Who was actually responsible for vocals on this album? In the tracklisting, Homme is credited but later on it says he was on guitar with Garcia on vocals. Having listened to the album, I'm fairly sure it's not Homme singing for the majority of the album. Jeskec (talk) 12:48, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's John Garcia singing on the whole album, except for Asteroid, obv. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.231.67.238 (talk) 03:26, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"provide a source" for "original research"[edit]

Someone reverted my addition to the article and asked to provide a reliable source for this, calling it "original research":

"The album's title, and the sign on the album cover, refer to the small town of Sky Valley, located in California just north of the city of Palm Desert (of the famous Palm Desert Scene)."

Okay so you want me to provide a source for the fact that Sky Valley is a town near Palm Desert (where Kyuss is from) and the photo on the cover was taken there? With all due respect, but get a clue, and kindly find your own reliable source if you think that needs a citation. I'm not going to bother. "Original research" haha. I know what that phrase means in a Wikipedia context, but in my opinion THIS is not it. It's the name of a goddamn town very near to where Kyuss are from. Next thing you're going to ask me to provide a reliable source for the "claim" that Palm Desert is in California. I get the whole providing sources for claims things, since this is an encyclopedia, really I do. But this is just rediculous. P.S. I had a good laugh though. I really won't lose any sleep over whether someone bothers to re-add the information to the article and provide a "source". I did my best; take it or leave it.
