Neutrality flag?[edit]

Why does this article have a message that its neutrality is disputed? The person who has put this message there should explain his or her point of view or else agree that the message is removed. Percentage of the population which is muslim[edit]

This page is subject to constant edit-warring over the percentages of the population which is muslim and christian. Neither of the percentages given at this moment are reflected in the cited sources. This is an annoying situation and I'd like to see edit-warring over this matter stop or at least slow down. I'm tired of reverting. To further complicate things, the refs given don't agree with each other at all. In either case the percentage of muslims given in the article currently is higher than any of the three sources cited. - Metal lunchbox ^(talk) 07:56, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've attempted to solve this problem by removing the actual number percentages and replaced them with "roughly half" since the numbers are constantly being changed from 48% to 50% to 50.4%, always roughly half. Opening sentence[edit]

"The CIA estimates over 50% of the population is Muslim[1] while the BBC estimated in 2007 that slightly over 50% of the population is Muslim." The two parts of the sentence agree with each other except the word "slightly". Is the word "while" really fitting here? TFighterPilot (talk) 19:04, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion on the Topic of Population change[edit]

This is an interesting topic and so much is explored! The first paragraph discussing the percentage of Muslims in Nigeria, two sources (CIA and BBC) are cited. The CIA estimates 50% of the population is Muslim[1]"in 2021 but the BBC's estimation was over 50% of Christians. It would be interesting to see this change discussed further or at least acknowledged. It may not seem like a 3% difference until we consider Nigeria's population being over 200 million. Nigeria's census has been disputed in the past by its citizens due to ethnic disagreements. Also the removal of religion from Nigeria's 2005 census due to tension between Christians and Muslims threatening to boycott it. Also an added section that discusses Lebanese migrants in Nigeria and their contribution to Islam in Nigeria. EEmenike (talk) 23:50, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
