Are there any source materials on the curse as an element of pop culture? The only one whose death immediately followed the movie was Dean. If source material can't be cited for this I question the need for an article on this "curse". Whoever compiled the list of dead actors in the movie missed Natalie Wood's death date by 6 years and Sal Mineo's by 16 years - it stated he was stabbed "37 years after the film" when he was actually died at age 37, 21 years after the film. 209.149.235.241 17:14, 1 Feb 2004 (UTC)

i find the article helpful. however, there is a serious problem here. this article states that the idea of the cast being cursed is a superstition. however, the article on superstition defines the word to mean a set of behaviors with certain properties--i.e., not an idea. one of these articles needs to be changed. Some other movies and television series have been dubbed as cursed over the years. One of them, The Conqueror, starring John Wayne, has a stronger claim than most others for a "curse". Shot in St. George, Utah, the movie location was downwind of Nevada open-air nuclear testing. The movie's producer, Howard Hughes, had a considerable amount of dirt from the location shooting trucked back to Hollywood for reshooting some scenes. I agree with first comment above and have deleted this section. It doesn't add any meaningful context to this article, which is supposedly about a very specific "curse" revolving around one movie. It also seems jarringly out of place upon reading. If anyone feels very strongly about it, you may of course revert, just please add your thoughts here. --Satori Son 02:12, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
