Gameplay[edit]

I am somewhat annoyed that Might & Magic III-V are called out as having a unique mix of fantasy and sci-fi. This is actually true for Might & Magic I and II as well. Can we get that corrected to include Might & Magic I-V as having the unique blend? VARN and CRON are acronyms and world names, after all, as people who have beat the first two games find out. 108.253.69.87 (talk) 00:18, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

I haven't played the older games for a while, so can someone please add more specific info to support the "humanity in far future" bit - preferably reference to a website where this is discussed? BreathingMeat 09:58, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It annoys me that this information about "humanity in the far future" is still there, and is being maintained, without a reference to justify its inclusion. I grant that the other plot info has no reference either, but it is of less concern to me as it is easily observed from the content of the games, and the CelestialHeavens plot page acts as a reference for this. Unless a reference appears, or even a note or two of explanation, I'm going to delete it soon. Same goes for Star Trek: although the article no longer states that the games may place themselves into Star Trek continuity, without more information it is not correct to have stuff about to what is likely to be no more than Trekkie in-joke references under the Plot heading. Might and Magice III - Isles of Terra[edit]

I found Might and Magic III - Isles of Terra. The article is weak as is, but could be improved. So should there be a page for each of the games? or One page for the whole series? Remember there were many different platforms early on.

My vote is for one page with a small paragraph for each game, maybe a screenshot from each major era. I will put Might and Magic III - Isles of Terra on VFD if at least some agreement. Any thoughts? Ht1848 18:26, 2004 Nov 9 (UTC)

I agree that all of the games can be combined into one article, at least until the time when the subsections on each game accumulate enough content to be separated into a standalone article again, at which time such an article can be re-created. Putting the existing substubs on VfD now should be fine as they don't really have any useful information.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus europeaus) 18:39, Nov 9, 2004 (UTC)
All of the stubs have been improved with infoboxes, screenshots and gameplay info now. Do we still want to merge them into this article? My opinion is no; but that's probably because I have done a lot of the work in improving the stubs, so am becoming rather attached to them... BreathingMeat 00:55, 30 December 2005 (UTC) Correction: Actually not all of the subs have screenshots yet. Sorry. Still working on that.[reply]

Redirect[edit]

Why does New World Computing redirect here?

Might and Magic IX[edit]

Why is Might and Magic IX listed in the article as having the subtitle "Writ of Fate." It seems a bit misleading to attach this to the name. Yes, I know it was referred to as such during development, but it was not released under that name anywhere, was it? – Seancdaug 14:27, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

MM Online[edit]

I was wondering why there is a MM online game listed in the box at the bottom of this page. Ubisoft haven't announced any such game, so if anyone can give me an explenation that would be good. If not, it'll need to be deleted.

M&M Online was under development by 3D0 around the same time as Meridian 59, but was cancelled. Information is very scarce, though there are people who have it on their resume such as lead designer Damion Schubert (Meridian 59). You can look for old press releases on gaming sites as well. [1]

Fanmade Tributes[edit]

What about tributes made by fans? - MM Tribute and World Of Xeen 2 (WoX2) http://wox2.crpg.ru/ http://mmtribute.castlegobs.nl/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.134.181.224 (talk) 11:55, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MMT used to have a page but it was deemed non-notable and deleted. BreathingMeat (talk) 20:34, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It has pages in the Dutch and Polish Wikipediae though. [2][3]. Guido den Broeder (talk) 22:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge novels[edit]

I am proposing that the two Might and Magic novels be merged into this article. The novels do not seem to carry any notability of their own and their articles may otherwise be deleted. Therefore I suggest that a "Novels" section be created in this article and incorporate what content it can from the two articles. Ham Pastrami (talk) 05:50, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Those articles aren't about to be deleted, so a rescue mission is not necessary. Guido den Broeder (talk) 07:18, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. There are plenty of articles revolving around equally notable game-related novels out there. Why should these receive separate treatment? 86.44.197.164 (talk) 14:38, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS is not an argument for keeping the articles. If you believe there are other "equally" (i.e., "non-") notable novel articles that could be merged somewhere more appropriate, please make an effort to clean them up also. Ham Pastrami (talk) 01:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Nonetheless a merge with this article would be inappropriate, given that it deals with the games themselves, not the related novels (which, aside from the names, have little to do with the game series as a whole). Obviously there is notability there to somebody, otherwise the articles wouldn't have been created. Perhaps combining both articles would be a less rash solution that outright deletion. Wikipedia is not paper. 86.44.192.141 (talk) 11:53, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alternate Universe[edit]

It says in the article that it is set in an altertnate universe. Are there any sources for that? I always thought that it was just set in the far future. Jamhaw (talk) 18:39, 16 January 2009 (UTC)jamhaw[reply]

Might & Magic: Chess Royale[edit]

In January 30, 2020, Ubisoft released Might & Magic: Chess Royale, a new entry in the series, with a mix of "auto battler" and "battle royale" elements. https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/might-and-magic-chess-royale/
