Please provide more details of the cases you referred to on my talk page. I'm interested in reading the full decisions to understand the reasoning used by the courts concerned. We don't store plain text passwords, so it would be necessary to use one of the readily available password hash cracking tools to get to the password. Means we must be careful about who has access to the hashes, though, or we'll compromise lots of online banking accounts (and make the front page of Slashdot and maybe the NY Times along the way).
