The description sounds like crap. How can an ethnic group be "formed"? DHN 18:59, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Tay-ized Vietnamese among the Tay[edit]

A lot of people who got classified as Tay are actually Tay-ized Annamite. These Annamite migrated from Nghe An, Nam Dinh, etc. to the border area to serve as governmental officials and ironically Tusi chieftains. They were assigned large tracts of lands in provincial towns along the Sino-Annamite borders and were forbidden to return back to their home areas. Today, there are a lot of the people who get classified as the Tay bear Annamite surnames, e.g. Nguyễn Đình, Nguyễn Khắc, Nguyễn Công. Gustmeister (talk) 14:06, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
