A few comments.

1) While Israeli presence in the Palestinian Territories is not disputed, it is important to note that many people believe that Palestinian areas are an integral part of Israel and are not being occupied, while others believe the alleged occupation is legal.

It might be good to clarify what presence in the Palestinian Territories is not disputed

2) The alleged occupation began in 1948, when Israel breached the terms of U.N. Resolution 181, the same resolution by which Israel was formed, in response to the invasion of neighbouring countries who also breached the terms of the resolution.

I think this could be better described in terms of what actually happened, rather than who did and who didn't breach what.

3) Some allege that instead of protecting the current inhabitants within its partition as directed by the resolution, Israel began killing, expelling, and otherwise terrorizing the indigenous people (mostly Arabs, both Muslims and Christians), claiming they were the enemy. Some people claim that in 1948 Israel was responsible for the deaths, maimings and the alleged ethnic cleansing of more than 870,000 Arabs from the areas designated by the UN as Palestine.'

This still needs significant cleaning up, as it still includes strong allegations (even with the "some allege" note) without any cited evidence.

4) Israel then began expanding into areas outside of the area designated for a Jewish state by the UN partition in response to the attempted invasions by surrounding nations. In addition, many neighbouring nations waged wars with Israel, and in response Israel steadily began to occupy more and more of the present-day Palestinian Territories and neighboring lands. -

I think detail would solve the issues here - what land was occupied, when it was occupied, and in what circumstances?

5) Israel's list of offenses at the U.N. is longer than for any other offender in U.N. history: Israel is currently in breach of at least 69 U.N. Security Council resolutions (many more resolutions were proposed but vetoed by the U.S.), as well as a number of the U.N. General Assembly resolutions. -

This needs sourcing.

6) Many supporters of Israel claim that the UN is anti-Semitic or otherwised biased against the State of Israel, and some allege that the UN has no authority over the actions of sovreign nations.

Gets the point across, but it's a little clumsily worded

7) Most of these resolutions have called for Israel to withdraw from the occupied areas, stop the alleged terrorizing of the indigenous people and neighbors and cease violating the basic human rights of Palestinians.

Finally, this in serious need of some NPOVing. Once again, I think detail could be the answer here. The UN often repeats the same demands in resolution after resolution after resolution, so it may be better to state what they have specifically requested, rather than this characterisation of it.

Format

Why is this article in this wierd format of "User:Node ue/Occupation of Palestine" ? What's with the "User:Node ue/" prefix? IZAK 04:59, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

It's simply a copy of the main article in the user namespace so a neutral version can be created without interference from the two POV warriors (pro and anti Israel respectively). Ambi 07:15, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
