Hi mate,

I realise that you've spent time on this — and that's good. However, I don't think that lists of departments and courses are appropriate for an encyclopedia. This information should be on their homepage, and I can't see how it would be kept up-to-date. Simply saying "the school offers a range of courses in engineering" would suffice — prospective students can go to the website and see for themselves. The table at the bottom is a mess (I'm running at 1024 and it overlaps the edge of the screen). A photograph would be nice if you have a camera.

I'm trying to help, not bite.

Columbia timelines[edit]

Where did you get these? Do you mind if they're edited down? Cool Hand Luke 19:57, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I think I have two concerns about these timelines. First, about whether we can use the text. There appears to be much much more content here then could be justified under fair use, do you have permission? Second, without formatting they don't appear encyclopedic and thus are VfD-bait. Both of these problems could be solved by editing them down and wikifying, but that would take a lot of work. Cool Hand Luke 20:09, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

What's with this {{unknowncopy}} stuff? That just doesn't exist around here! Have you noticed what it says right under the edit box? It says:
All contributions to Wikipedia are released under the GNU Free Documentation License (see Wikipedia:Copyrights for details). If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, do not submit it.
By submitting your work you promise you wrote it yourself, or copied it from public domain resources — this does not include most web pages. DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION!
In other words: either it is your own text, and by uploading it, you re-license it under the GFDL, or you do have permission to re-license the text under the GFDL. If you do not know what the status of a text is, then you cannot re-license it under the GFDL, and hence it will be removed for suspected copyright infringement. You must clear up potential copyright problems before uploading text.
In fact, I see that you've taken this from a Columbia University Press book. Hence your uploading this text to Wikipedia does violate their copyright. Lupo 20:48, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)
