A game released for gameboy advance by electronic arts - 24 November 2006 has been named "Superman Returns: Fortress of Solitude"

What about Doc Savage's Fortress of Solitude?

Whomever did the latest work to this page did an outstanding job!

I was wondering are there any more picture of the Fortress of Solitude?

The first appearace of Superman's Fortress of Solitude is not in 1958[edit]

The Fortress of Solitude first appeared in Superman #58 (May-June 1949 cover date). In the third story of this issue, "The Case of the Second Superman", not only does Superman use the name "Fortress of Solitude" for the first time to describe his fort, but he also indicates that it is located "in the polar waste".Heathcliff 01:03, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is wrong. In the third story from Superman 58, "The Case of the Second Superman", the fortress is depicted as Superman flies to it with Regor, "the Second Superman", on the last panel on page 5 (this is the panel where Superman calls it his "Fortress of Solitude") and the first four panels on page 6 show the inside of the Fortress. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Heathcliff (talk • contribs) 15:33, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Doc Savage's Fortress of Solitude[edit]

um...why is Doc Savage's Fortress of Solitude on this page? It seems like a product of a merger gone wrong. Either give it its own page or put it on Doc Savage's page, but it definitely does not belong on this page. -Jaardon (talk) 00:45, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

But of course the fact that the Fortress name and idea is taken from an earlier series is relevant here. At least a bare mention is mandatory -- this is the origin of the page's topic, after all -- and if it were known that some editor who worked on both publications was responsible for carrying the idea over from Savage to Superman, that would also be germane. I have been around Wikipedia for a while now, and I must say, I don't understand this nonsense. I have been to the Antartic many times and I've never even heard about this supposed "fortress." The original fortress[edit]

The original concept of the Fortress of Solitude appeared in the 1930 story "Gladiator" by Philip Wylie, which story undoubtedly played a great part in the idea of a Superman.(5.8.186.99 (talk) 19:09, 18 July 2017 (UTC))[reply]
