From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm not sure which is your family name and which is your given name. Are you Tom?

I have just noticed the work you (and others) have contributed to the Yuen Long article. Some points worth noting...

  1. PLEASE don't upload images larger than (approx) 100Kb - You have several images over 2Mb in size. This is an unnecessary waste of Wikipedia server disk space. Please shrink your images to 800x600 (or smaller) and increase JPEG compression until they are about 100kb (or smaller). If you upload a new version with exactly the same name is will overwrite the original.
  2. Please don't add copyright information in the caption of each image. This data is best stored (once only) in the description page of the image.
  3. Please consider the encyclopedic value of images. The value of Image:Kai Ki Dessert.JPG is a little lost on me.
  4. Please review the various pages linked from Wikipedia:Images

Thank you for your contributions to date, and hope to see more in the future. - Gaz 15:04, 24 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I have cleaned up the page on Yuen Long and uploaded smaller versions of each of your photos. - Gaz 13:37, 27 Mar 2004 (UTC)

You uploaded the above image, but did not provide information on the source or copyright status of the image. If you took the photograph yourself, please add a comment to the image description indicating this.

(If you took the photo, we will then set the license to the Wikipedia-standard GFDL; if you wish to use a different license for the image, please let us know.) —Steven G. Johnson 04:33, Jan 7, 2005 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Tung Chun Line to HK by siukin.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Tung Chun Line to HK by siukin.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:57, 21 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 02:57, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
