Vilgos or Világos[edit]

I did some googling of what the english name of this village is. It appears historically in romania as vilgos[1] and as Világos [2]. I was searching for a map, or perhaps a website that would describe the city in detail but found none. --sp00n17:talk 12:31, Jan 31, 2005 (UTC)

What the original author probably meant[edit]

"Vilgos is incorrect name. The correct name is Világos. It is hungarian village is 1849." It's a guess, but this may read as follows. "Vilgos is not the proper name for the village of Világos, which in 1849 was a Hungarian village." --sp00n17:talk 12:41, Jan 31, 2005 (UTC)

Overspecification?[edit]

I wonder if it's necessary to disambiguate "Şiria" as "Şiria, Arad". I don't find any other articles about places (or whatever else) named Şiria, and even if we do want to disambiguate, I suppose it could be "Şiria, Romania". But to be frank, I don't see any reason even for that until another "Şiria" article is created. Adam78 17:32, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Name?[edit]

Would there be any reason to put Şiria on a disambiguation page when you search "Siria"? For some reason when you search "Siria", the article is something completely different, and the disambiguation page is for "Syria". How would I go about doing something about this? 194.82.121.38 11:08, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can somebody add the Hungarian article to the list?[edit]

@Super Dromaeosaurus, Onel5969, Markussep, and Azure94: Hungarian Wikipedia has it under "Világos". In the Hungarian article about the 1949 Surrender at Világos (here), they even speak of two distinct villages, Magyarvilágos (Hungarian Világos) and Románvilágos (Romanian Világos), but both are linked to the same article page. So the villages either merged, or it's a POV issue of keeping the two parts of the same village apart. Whichever the case, it's very important in Hungarian history, so they do have a lot of additional info on it, and it should be here on the list. Arminden (talk) 12:29, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
