Kino school was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was DELETE

Non-notable school. Page basically created as a vanity article. The vanity paragraph has been deleted. See? That's what school articles are -- vanity articles. RickK 20:21, Nov 1, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Non-notable. -- WOT 20:59, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: Google gives the school's own website and then other schools also called Kino that are public schools and not in the same town. Normally, I think preps can achieve notability more easily by being individual than publics, but this one doesn't. Just a business. Geogre 21:06, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. If people wanted to look at the website, they can just google it. The basic facts, if usable, should go in an article on Tucson educational establishments. Speaking of which, I'm also deleting the bits about this school from the Tucson, Arizona article.

  • Delete, or redirect to Tucson, Arizona. I have merged this material into Tucson, Arizona#Kino School. Let the people who know the school and the people who know Tucson deal with it. By placing the following notice in Talk:Tucson, Arizona I think I have made it GFDL-kosher to delete Kino school: Dpbsmith (talk) 21:26, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
The material on Kino School is a merge from an article entitled Kino school. The material merged is entirely the work of a single author and is in the exact form created by that author. The page history of Kino school up to and including the merged material is:
(cur) (last) 14:35, 1 Nov 2004 216.39.176.97 (By Elliot Berry)
(cur) (last) 14:32, 1 Nov 2004 216.39.176.97

  • Uh.. that was me up there. Sorry, Dpbsmith, I really don't agree with merging this with the Tucson article in the form it was - it disfigures the page, to be blunt. If Wikipedia wishes to be taken seriously, then it should keep up appearances, so to speak, and having an apparently trivial school appear twice in the article on Tucson really looks bad to me. I've left the Education section up, so if anyone wanted to write an overview of the education system, they could. If this VfD decides to merge the Kino School, then I will abide by that decision, but can we wait until the end of the period? Average Earthman 21:33, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
No, see below, I'm perfectly cool with what you did. I think I've made the way clear for deletion of Kino school.
    • Just occured to me - it could be put in the Talk section while we discuss it, perhaps? Average Earthman 21:34, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
No need to discuss, you or I or anyone who wants it in the article can always get it back from the History. You might add some chat in Talk:Tucson, Arizona to make it clear what's going on.Dpbsmith (talk) 21:39, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Uh... you may want to consider signing your vote, above. Dpbsmith (talk) 21:40, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
After merging the full article cleaned it up. Almost immediately that portion of the article was deleted by User:Average Earthman, for reasons he explains above. This is fine with me. Note that all the material from the article under discussion continues to be available in the History for Tucson, Arizona, with traceable provenance on the Talk page. • Delete. Not notable means not encyclopedic topic means not encyclopedic. --Improv 21:55, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Keep. Why are some schools/universities notible and articles like this school one are not? Notibility alone seems too subjective to delete an article over. --ShaunMacPherson 02:53, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Some things have fuzzy borders, but that doesn't mean we should try not to see them. Take clouds, for instance. --Improv 16:52, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep I did some rewriting for NPOVness but this is a valid stub. Why do people cry POV, but not edit to correct the situation? --L33tminion | (talk) 18:58, Nov 5, 2004 (UTC)
Because they want the articles deleted once and for all. If anyone tries to save it, dear God, it might actually STAY. Mike H 17:42, Nov 10, 2004 (UTC)
