The Superman Films[edit]

The article incorrectly implies the LOTR film trilogy was the first attempt at simultaneous film shoot productions for a film series. This isn't the case. The first attempt by a film studio to shoot a movie and it's sequel at the exact same time was the 1978 Superman film and Superman 2. The shooting of the second film as originally planned was halted deep in filming due to the studio being concerned about the potential Box Office of the first film, and Richard Donner was later fired. Superman 2 was 80%-90% completed at the time production was halted to "focus on getting the first film right". Ultimately Donner's own version of the movie, as mostly simultaneously filmed, was released in 2006 as "Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut" and was better received than the 1980 Richard Lester release was. This should be in a brief notation next to the statement about this being the "First Simultaneous Film Production in a movie series". It's technically actually the Superman 1 & 2: Donner Cut, although the latter 2006 film was released after LOTR. Colliric (talk) 12:41, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What is clean sweep?[edit]

the intro paragaraph says "therefore tying for the record for the most Academy Awards won by a single film and holding the record for the highest clean sweep at the Oscars. " what is a clean sweep in this instance? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.138.224.125 (talk) 19:08, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Saruman et al[edit]

Why important scenes like Saruman being killed, Eomer riding to battle in secret, Witch-king death prophecy, Faramir and Eomer falling in love aren't in the plot? Some scenes are from extended version, while some are in theatrical also. Gevorg89 (talk) 20:55, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The section about Comparison with the Source Material explains the omission of plot points like these and others, and the substitution of jarring and sometimes nonsensical things, very well. These are poor decisions by the producer and screenwriters. In the time allotted, the story could have been told properly. Although I don't think Faramir and Eomer ever fell in love :-) Wastrel Way (talk) 01:36, 25 July 2022 (UTC) Eric[reply]

Epilogues[edit]

I just added the epilogue to Samwise Gamgee and the fact that the films don't have the character epilogues, and I want to add the epilogues of all the Fellowship members but while I have a source (it's not an article on a trusted site, but rather a YouTube video by Tolkien YouTube channel Men of the West. I hope that's okay), I don't know how to properly word the rest of them in a style appropriate for Wikipedia. Triviatronic9000 (talk) 18:32, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, you're right, I misinterpreted a line in the book. 159.87.87.61 (talk) 21:51, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
