Hi Comic, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Thankyou for finding the time to sign up and contribute to our little project. If you're in doubt about anything, you might want to check out some of these pages:

It's also a good idea to sign the new user log and add a little about yourself.

When contributing to a talk page, you can sign your name by typing four tildes after your comments, like this: ~~~~. (Just so you know, some people won't pay attention to unsigned comments).

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me at my talk page, or at the Help desk or Village Pump.

Above all, make sure you be bold when contributing, and have fun!

Hi Comic - there's a small problem with your latest contribution,Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch, because it seems to have come word-for-word from another website. If you have permission from the site's owners for Wikipedia to use their work, please drop a note to that effect at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. If not, you might like to rewrite the article in your own words at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch/Temp. Cheers --Rlandmann 04:30, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  - Ah. Okay well it's deleted now. Comic

Image copyright tags[edit]

Wow, I posted this without realizing who you were. Weird. Hi.

Thanks for uploading Image:Jacobsladder.JPG. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) Thanks so much, Andre (talk) 06:02, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

Bureaucratship[edit]

Hi, Comic. Thank you so much for your support and kind words on my bureaucratship nomination. Unfortunately, it didn't pass, but I intend to run again soon. If you'd like to be informed next time around, please let me know on my talk page. Thanks again! Andre (talk) 05:12, September 4, 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Argo_Gulskii.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Argo_Gulskii.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ↔NMajdantalk 17:39, 14 March 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Looks good. Please be sure to remove the tag I placed on the Image page.↔NMajdantalk 15:10, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you![edit]

Thanks in part to your support, I am Wikipedia's newest bureaucrat. I will do my best to live up to your confidence and kind words. Andre (talk) 09:38, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:George de Sand.PNG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:George de Sand.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
