Pulitzer infoboxes[edit]
If you want to turn the "previous & next Pulitzer winners" box into a widely used thing, it'd probably be a good idea to use a parameterized template, so you don't have to edit a million pages to make minor tweaks to the format. This could be used for any similar awards list, not just Pulitzers. This is my first attempt to use that feature so I hope it works (edit Template:Literary award navigation to see the details):

Well, almost. It comes out looking almost okay, but all the links are for some reason edit links - even for pages that obviously exist, like 2000 and 2002 - which is no good. I don't know why this is happening, & I'm asking over on the Wikimedia Templates talk page - will keep you posted. --Hob 16:26, 2004 Aug 6 (UTC)
- Now it looks a little better - found a ridiculously complicated workaround - but now all the links are not edit links, even if they should be (i.e. even if the linked articles don't exist). So maybe this isn't ready for prime time yet... --Hob 05:52, 2004 Aug 7 (UTC)
- Okay, I finally got it to work. The trick is that you have to put the [[ ]] around the authors and titles in the parameter list, rather than in the template. I also tweaked the table padding a little for prettiness, and made the year links go to the corresponding "____ in literature" articles. I've gone ahead & used this for Kavalier & Clay and several of the other novels; to see how to use the template, just edit those articles (or this page), copy the big thing that starts with {{Literary award navigation... and just replace the authors, titles, and years (being careful not to overwrite any of the [ ] | stuff). ←Hob 04:41, 2004 Sep 4 (UTC)
