I think that we need to create a page about Land Banks in the United States. These agencies have been in existanse since 1971 and are in several large US cities. They perform land banking on tax foreclosed properties in order to bring them back into productive uses. Prominent examples of US Land Banks: St. Louis, Cleveland, Louisville, Atlanta, and Genessee County (Flint, MI). Here is a good summary that could be the basis of the article. I just attended a presentation in Louisville by one of the lead authorities on this topic and would like to get some of those key points in the article too. Just learned that the term Land Bank was used in England in the 1690s. Neal Stephenson mentions it in The Confusion, and it appears to be based in fact. Here is a reference --Nhelm83 (talk) 16:16, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
