Disambiguation[edit]

How about a disambig. page? These are related concepts (the same even), just used in different contexts. -- Sam

I agree with a splitting of sections and disambiguation page. Mutual aid as voluntarism in emergency relief services and mutual aid as a political principle in anarchism are very different subject matters. While communities with volunteer fire fighters may espouse anarchism, its by no means necessary or even foundational to the practice.

I think a third article on Kropotkin's classic text is also in order. -- david

I'm all for a disambiguation page. But let's remember that the meanings are similar at a superficial level (voluntary reciprocal exchange of resources and services). Most likely because emergency services mutual aid grew out of political mutual aid (libertarian socialism). A linkage we wouldn't want to loose. In practice, political mutual aid (as defined by Kropotkin - or lack thereof) and emergency services mutual aid are very different. Emergency services mutual aid adds the needed structure and decision making process. Emergency services mutual aid validates Kropotkin's ideas in one small domain. Again, a linkage we wouldn't want to loose. -- tk

This is now a disambig page, as per discussion. Owen 20:18, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
