Untitled[edit]

A comparison of a model of the defunct Simca to an ex-Soviet Aleko model seems to be too broadly dealt with here with special focus on denial of the ex-Soviets. This part of the article should be cancelled here or transferred to an Aleko page.

SIMCA : another reference[edit]

Dear Author

I looked for SIMCA related to Modelling of class anology. However, I find no refernce on this other than SIMCA cars. I believe this encyclopedia should alos refer to another acronym to SIMCA

The Simca Project[edit]

Dear All,

I hope this talk page can become the central place for discussing and coordinating all editorial efforts concerning this and all Simca-related articles. Recently, there has been quite some action concerning the creation and expansion of those, and I believe it would good to carry on and try to develop a set of good (or even better), comprehensive articles on this interesting and important chapter of French and European automotive history. There are only a handful of articles, so this should be a manageable and attainable task.

Let me summarize the current state of articles:

  • Simca - the outline of the content is there, but not quite the form and no references
Models[edit]
  • Pre-Aronde Fiat-based Simcas - not yet created
  • Simca Aronde - stub - photos of Aronde 9 and P90 and non-saloon bodystyles missing
  • Simca Vedette - already a Good Article, though some work still needs to be doen (possible WP:FAC) - photos of poor quality
  • Simca Ariane - stub
  • Simca 1000 - a bit bloated stub
  • Simca 1200S Coupé (presumably to include 1000S too) - not yet created (to be determined whether too merge with 1000 or create a separate article)
  • Simca 1300/1500 - also a bloated stub with lots of trivia but not much practical info - photos of estate and 1301/1501 missing
  • Simca 1100 - a rather disappointing stub - only one photo of really poor quality
  • Simca 1307 (incl. related models) - content outline, lack of references, needs expansion - I can provide a photo of the 1307 hatchback, but not other models
  • Matra Bagheera - basic article - photo missing
  • Matra Rancho - basic article - photo of Decouvrable could come in handy
  • Matra Murena - basic article
  • Simca Horizon - a developed article, but a bit of a mess, and unreferenced - there could be a much better photo found

Other related[edit]

If you would like to join, look for links to good sources in the reference sections of the already-created articles, and of course do your own research! If there is an issue you would like to discuss, do post it here. Merci, Bravada, talk - 21:44, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Simca Chambord Tufão, Esplanada and other models from Simca do Brasil[edit]

Hiya all, I'm new to Wikipedia as a contributor. I including today a post about the Simca Chambord (Brazilian model), Esplanada and a piece about Simca do Brasil.

I was wondering how the structure works. Will my contribution be automatically included to the existing Simca Vedete file?

Anyone got sugestion for the rookie here...? =)

French hemi?[edit]

I recall reading (somewhere...) of a French-built, Chrysler-designed hemi, around 130ci, intended for armored cars or something in France in the '40s, being sold in SAm (Brazil?) into the '70s... Can anybody substantiate? TREKphiler hit me ♠ 02:48, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not founded by Ernest Loste[edit]

No basis is shown for identifying Ernest Loste as the founder of Simca. What is the reference for this statement?

Even the reference on this page, http://www.histomobile.com/dvd_histomobile/usa/26/history.asp

states that the real founder was Henri Theodore Pigozzi.

See for example: Ford Vedette Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Vedette

See also: http://www.evri.com/person/henri-pigozzi-0x9b1e1

and: http://www.rootes-chrysler.co.uk/simca-cars/simca-1000.html

and: http://www.cartype.com/pages/2035/simca_1000

The only sites which state that Ernest Loste was a founder link back to this page for their authority. -- Komowkwa (talk) 00:13, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The change of company founder from Pigozzi was made by user 84.97.99.68 who also changed the F4rench language page. At least one of his/her other edits on the same day, there has been no activity by the user except on 1 Feb 2010 was vandalism (Bugatti article). I will change this article back. Thanks -- If I had looked back at the history of the change I would have been able to point out the issue instead of spending a lot of time on research. Then again, if I knew what I was doing, etc. - Komowkwa (talk) 03:23, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Which one is this...[edit]

I think this may be worth a link or ref: Simca: goblin's choice. I think this is the Simca Aronde? What a bizarre advert: the only human is defacing the product… Maury Markowitz (talk)

Simcas sold in the U.S.[edit]

The article emphasizes ownership of the brand and location of production, but how about some information on where Simcas were sold? In particular, can someone give some info on Simcas sold in the U.S.? I remember seeing some of them in the U.S. in the early 1960's, but they sort of disappeared after that.CountMacula (talk) 02:32, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
