Opel/Vauxhall Ecotecs[edit]
GM is now using the Ecotec name just as extensively as Ford uses its Duratec. It may come unnoticed by US public, but the entire range of Opel diesels is produced by Fiat, yet it is marked as Ecotec CDI, and obviously different low-displacement petrol engines in use by Opel and Vauxhall are dubbed Ecotec TwinPort in the same confusing way.
GM Europe Media Online - Opel - Products&Services doesn't mention internal RPO codes of the engines used in Opel cars, so I just couldn't consistently classify them as in the rest of the article. Anyone who can possibly make a better classification out of their specs should click the Media link above and choose a car model to download a Technical Data document, these have plenty of data on every possible trim/engine combination. --DmitryKo 20:31, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)
New 1.8L Ecotec[edit]

1.4 L non-Twinport[edit]

Chevrolet Astra and Vectra have FlexPower engines[edit]
GM do Brasil seems to have also a 2.0 (Astra and Vectra) and a 2.4 16 V (vectra with automatic transmission) engines which are FlexPower. Could anyone get some more specific information about those engines and put it into the article? The Vectra 2.4 16 V motor seems to be the first flex-fuel engine in the world above 2.0L Loudenvier 06:42, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

--->I have noticed that it's been suggested merging the C16SE page into this more general one. Can I suggest _not_ doing this. There are lots of details specific to each GM engine and I for one would support the expansion of pages on each engine. I'm going to continue to improve the C16SE page. Opel_Astra#Saturn_Astra links via a "U18XER" link to GM_Family_1_engine#Generation_III but there is no U18XER listed on this page. Is this an omission in the list or a typo? shadyman (talk) 06:04, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
