Redirects: Jacwing[edit]

I removed the mention of the novels as there was no mention of how they are related to this ethnic group. Anyone read them? Rmhermen 15:03, Jun 15, 2004 (UTC)

*Komant(a)s[edit]

Removed until clarification:

The last Sudovian duke Komants fought the Teutonic Knights for over 30(????) years.

The earliest lithuanian chronicle from Navahrudak, preserved as part of Halych-Volynia cronicle says that *Komants sided with Teutons. Mikkalai 19:33, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • O ye, sided, but in 1282 or 1283 only (he fought the Teutonic Knights for the most part in 1270s, that is for 13 or 14 years). Gugutis 12:27, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Germans commited genocide on the Jaćwings[edit]

The German lobby is again hiding their horrible attrocities against that little tribe.Ever since Germans came there there was no sign of the Jaćwings no more. They killed all of them, just like they killed the Prussians,Obodrites,Wielettis,Drewians and other Slavic tribes in current eastern Germany (Elbe-Odra region). It's remarkable how this is supposed to be an encyclopedia and what the Germans did is hidden. You wrote nothing about the fate of the Jaćwings.

Sudovians vs. Yotvingans[edit]

Please see Talk:Sudovians. mikka (t) 17:02, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

contested statement removed[edit]

  • Large parts of Prussian Sudovian territory were conquered under the Polish - Lithuanian Jagiellonian kingdom, and Sudovians were either exterminated, assimilated or took refuge as Protestants in the Duchy of Prussia {{Fact|date=April 2008}}.

Merge Proposal[edit]

Yotvingia talks about the history of the Yotvingia, Yotvingians talks about the people/culture, Sudovian language discusses the language.

Pollexiani[edit]

Rm dubious interpretation :Pollexiani are Polesians; and what about this confusion: either source or wikipedians, without ref is unclear:

In Latin language written sources of the Masovians this Prussian tribe was called Polexiani. Kadlubek told that area was belonging to the Prussians: sunt autem Pollexianni, Getarum seu Prussorum genus.

I also removed allegedly "Russian" term "Jadwinger" - no way - Probably taken from a German book. Again, these "Chinese whispers" without references have no place here. Ladnadruk (talk) 02:27, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to them?[edit]

It says there were over 30,000 in 1860, so I assume it must be known why there are 0 today, but I can't find that anywhere in the article. 84.211.51.30 (talk) 18:29, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yotvingians were killed in a genocide executed by Poles and the Teutonic order. Some fled to Lithuania. -- Ke an (talk) 18:44, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
