Welsh name[edit]

Does anyone know of the standard Welsh name for the Welsh Tract? --Adam (Talk) 22:26, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How do these fit in to what I have seen on Wikipedia? (copied from talk page for List of Primitive Baptist Churches)[edit]

The Historical Marker Database (hmdb.org) site has an entry which has a plaque I have seen in person today: "Oldest Primitive Baptist Church in America". It is Welsh Tract, near Newark, Delaware. (THIS article --Welsh Tract -- does mention such Welsh Tract of Delaware, and there is a Welsh Tract Baptist Church article on wikipedia.)

I have a Revolutionary ancestor Simeon Harris who is listed as being Primitive Baptist minister in the area of Barbour and Randolph counties, an area in Virginia when he died in 1847, but now West Virginia, due west of Washington DC and due south of Pittsburgh.

Gladwyne[edit]

Do we have a source for "Gladwyne" being "meaningless in Welsh"? It reads to me like it might be derived from "gwlad wen", meaning "white country" or "bright country".
