Gen. Pinochet may have saved the country not only from Marxist dictatorship but also from a civil war. There is, I think, only one way how to deal with extremists such as Communists or Fashists.They should be opposed at ALL COSTS. A leader that cares about his country should not hesitate to act decisively. For all Pinochet's excesses he did just that.
