Amusing Quote[edit]

I don't think this belongs in the article, but it amused me. I saw it on Cricinfo's quotes page.

It's typical of English cricket. A tree gets in the way for 200 years and, when it falls down, instead of cheering they plant a new one. (Former Australian fast bowler, David Gilbert)

Canterbury Festival[edit]

Shouldn't there be a mention of the Canterbury Festival, which I believe has been going for something like 150 years? Also Canterbury must be one of the oldest grounds, along with Lord's, The Oval and Trent Bridge, and there ought to be something about its history, at least to say when the ground opened and when Kent first played there. The tree is important, but the article seems obsessed with it to the exclusion of all else. I'll leave expanding the article to a Kent expert (I'm a Surrey man myself).
