Is this relevant to anything in history? I think a footnote of his suspicion, arrest, and death would be sufficient in the Elizabeth Smart article; besides, that flyer that was posted on the bottom of the article makes him look guilty, which he apparently has been cleared of, so could either be considered inflammatory or non-NPOV?
Just commenting from Ireland and have just seen a documentary on the Elizabeth Smart Case on British TV - Channel 4 10pm 19/05/05 (or 05/19/05 for Americans;).
Like the previous comment I think that the News Release included in this entry creates a false impression of Richard Ricci's guilt when it is known and tragically after his death, that Ricci was innocent and that the true perpetrators are awaiting / on trial. Also, the documentary said that although the Salt Lake City PD have not acknowledged a responsibility for Ricci's death, an out of court settlement was reached.
The original author should consider removing the News Release and or emphasising Ricci's innocence in a clearer manner

I think that the poster shold be left as it is an example of how things can go wrong during a police investigation. Ricci is innocent of any crime related to the Smart kidnapping, but due to whatever improper procedures, the police circulated a poster of him. BTW, a death during police or prison custody should always be considered suspicious and should be investigated by impartial parties -- regardless of what country.--TGC55 15:35, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Death[edit]
Info on his death is not particularly clear. I presume there was an autopsy, what did it say? What did the widow allege happen (I presume they claim he was beaten to death but it's not made clear). I was wondering, why there's no information in this page? It rather gets redirected to Elizabeth Smart's page where there's minimum talk about Ricci.
