Art Bell Enya-ish music[edit]

Um, I don't know if this is appropriate for this page - I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the song playing during Phil's Art Bell bit. Not ABBA, I mean when Art and Jameson are talking. The real mellowish sounding one. Kinda sounds Enya-ish. Thanks for the help.

Nope, sorry.

Yep, that's one. There's another though which sounds more atmospheric than tuneful.

Update, I finally found the name of the booping music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cESfyIsg9tU

You're welcome; I know it was driving *ME* nuts.

I've emailed him twice with the Backstage Pass dealie, but no reply. He's said he's behind on email and it may take a while. Or he hates me. -- Derfy 05:41, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Some updates on 'guests'[edit]

08.04.2005 - I updated Bud Dickman and added Don Berman but both were erased...why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.168.74.2 (talk) 19:39, 2005 August 4 (UTC)

I updated a few of the "guest" bios and added some tidbits... Does anyone know if Roland Schwinn has appeared on the show in the last few years?? as far as I know he became chef Carl Chodillia..

by the way.. does anyone know of a phil hendrie site with a discussion forum??? I have never been able to find one, it seems there should be enough phil fans to support a message board...

XTRA PD said Hendrie would have been moved to LA's AAR affiliate?[edit]

Would love to get a source for this:

According to the KXTA sports program director, Hendrie would have ended up at the Air America affiliate in Los Angeles, KTLK, if they hadn't picked him up.

In the mean time, I've removed it because I couldn't find anything with Google. --Derek 18:11, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE: You have to subcribe to the site laradio.com. Inside they quote the XTRA sports program director saying that Hendrie would have got moved to the local LA Air America station, had his station not picked him up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.105.168.160 (talk) 00:52, 2005 September 17 (UTC)

The web site, laradio.com, interviewed the XTRA sports program director. That's where the quote came from. The problem is you have to pay alot of money to access the site's interview. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Person182 (talkcontribs) 06:17, 2005 September 17 (UTC)

Hendrie the other day was bashing Air America for low ratings and being intolerant, but he's like on 5 or 6 Air America affilates. Maybe the ratings suck cause of Phil? In LA his sports station is getting beat by the Air America affilate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HAS (talkcontribs) 16:39, 2005 September 19 (UTC)

Many of the characters now have recent events from shows, but on the show remain archetypes. For example, Ted Bell is best known for being a businesman with a phobia of the physically and mentally challenged, as well as being an arrogant rich guy. His "Classy Ladies" segment, while funny as an "adult entertainment for the family" shouldn't be in the description. Nor should Lloyd Bonefide's affair with Mrs. Curuthers. Lloyd is always the guy who fought for his country in Korea. While trained for the US military, he never fought close-combat (he was a chief petty officer in the navy) but snaps mentally due to his experience, training, and some random event. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jclinard (talkcontribs) 09:53, 2005 November 4 (UTC)

guests[edit]

I just gotta say, I still friggin laugh out loud everytime I read the "guest" section of the article.. Phil really is a genius if I do say so myself, there actually is enough depth to all the characters that the guest section actually works. --Kvuo 00:07, 7 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know if Phil knows about this Wikipedia entry? I think he'd get a kick out of it too. --Derek 20:03, 7 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, he know about it. He mentioned it on-air recently, but he's kinda clueless as to the Wiki concept. His description of Wikipedia was that it was like an "Urban Encyclopedia". Maybe he knows people can edit the pages, I dunno.. FranksValli 23:10, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Comb-Over Boy[edit]

On this article it says that comb-over boy killed himself because nobody took him seriously. I've heard a bit where comb-over boy killed himself but it was because he was ugly. Were these two different bits or is there a mistake here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluesykillerhorn enwiki (talkcontribs) 21:47, 2005 August 16 (UTC)

XM, not Sirius[edit]

Why does this information keep being altered? I'm going by the banner on Phil's site that says he's on XM channel 152. Is this outdated(I don't use satellite radio)? -- Derfy 13:51, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's vandalism I think. There is big obvious vandalism and also minor vandalism, as this user appears to be doing. Notice that they are using an ip address instead of creating an account, and their only contribution to Wikipedia is on this page. Maybe vandalism is too harsh of a word, but it's unclear what their intentions are when they repeatedly revert the corrective edits. I dunno, it's anyone's guess.... FranksValli 00:22, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say vandalism, probably Sirius vs. XM subscriber-based-vandalism. Everyone has a "team" mentality -- there's a lot of "I subscribe to XM, sirius sux!", and vice versa. I KNOW he's on XM 152 (replayed from previous day 4-7pm pacific), I am an XM subscriber and am listening to him right now. --Kvuo 00:48, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

By the way... When did Howard Stern mention Phil joining Sirius??? I listen to Howard every day and seem to have missed that. --Kvuo 20:30, 31 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've never listened to Stern, but apparently Laradio.com substantiates this story - they have a headline called "Stern words for Phil Hendrie", with Stern highlighted in bold to show it's the broadcaster. However, you have to register. Maybe you can get lucky with bugmenot.com username/passwords to take a look at the article. FranksValli 06:10, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE: Howard Stern has mentioned on air on the Friday 9th show that he would want to hire Hendrie. Stern played audio of Hendrie defending him on the air, and bashing his own employer, Clear Channel. Stern is interested in hiring Hendrie for Sirius Satelite radio. Has Hendrie responded to Stern's offer?

Frank Valli, I wish you would leave my comments alone. I am not spreading misinformation. What I am reporting is accurate information. KFI was Hendrie's biggest station, look it up! Hendrie despite what he has said was basically fired from KFI to make room for conservative radio tlak show host John Zielger. E-mail the host John Ziegler at talktozig@aol.com, and ask him yourself about this. What I'm reporting is FACT. Don't take just Hendrie's word for it. Do some of your won research like I have. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.105.168.160 (talk) 01:04, 2005 September 17 (UTC)

Ok, I'll leave your comments alone. I'm just trying to make this neutral point of view (but personally I agree with your statements). Anyone else have any opinions about this? I really am not sure about this, so I'll leave it alone. FranksValli 01:29, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE: Thank you Frank. And do not believe what that "Phil Hendrie" has said. He is spreading lies about me. I have never threatened his family, that is an outrageous statement. I demand a retraction. I have not been spreading misinformation about him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.105.168.160 (talk) 01:51, 2005 September 17 (UTC)

Well, there's no reason to doubt that's not Phil Hendrie. I'm not sure of what's going from what Phil mentioned, I'll leave this between you two.. But in regards to the "he was fired" - unless you can point to an official statement, I think that's a rather strong statement to make. What's wrong with just leaving it as it was - as "he moved"? Also, can you please sign your statements with four tildas (~), it makes it a bit more organized. FranksValli 02:07, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, I'm watching the webcast right now and Phil just mentioned his note on here. Kinda cool I guess. FranksValli 04:34, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What did Phil say when he mentioned his note? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.105.168.160 (talk) 03:31, 2005 September 18 (UTC)

I think this is whole situation is unbelievably strange. Personally, my own edits here have tried to mediate the matter and especially ensure facts are cited, which is why like you (below) I don't want to keep the "fired" bit in there. I don't understand the fascination in repeatedly inserting uncitable details of a supposed firing in though. --Derek 16:30, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE: The problem is that by saying "he moved" you make it sound like he decided to leave on his own. Hendrie has not been honest with his auidence. Frank, your only geting your information from Phil, so of course he's not gonna say he was forced out, he's gonna spin it his way. Would you willingly leave the highest rated talk station in America? I've had it confirmed that Hendrie was forced out by 2 sources, laradio.com and John Ziegler, the radio host who replaced him. He should just be honest with his audience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Person182 (talkcontribs) 06:23, 2005 September 17 (UTC)

As much as I like his show, I think it's obvious Hendrie was forced out of KFI. He is still hired by Premiere Radio Networks, so obviously he wasn't fired from his job. Think of it as a company moving an employee from one building to the other. In addition, this article should stick to official statements or things mentioned on his show. It doesn't help that these "fired" edits were constantly edited by an anonymous IP (which made it look suspicious, but I see you've registered now). Anyhow, this kind of dispute isn't new here on Wikipedia. Maybe we can insert a note that says this: "(some unofficial sources claim that Hendrie was forcibly moved)" (and then cite these sources at the bottom of the page). This is factual, since some sources apparently do say this. It's important to distinguish this from simply saying "Hendrie was fired". If Hendrie moved or was forcibly moved, he still moved, which is neutral point of view (NPOV), and Wikipedia policy. FranksValli 20:44, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Today on Howard's show Howard mentioned PHil's name. Robin couldn't think of the name of the coach of the Lakers, she said Phil something, and Howard says Phil Hendrie. I think Phil would be great on Howard's channel. Howard has mentioned in the past that he likes Phil, and would be interested in hiring him. JackB24

Mentioned wikipedia? Also, Phil's IP?[edit]

Did Phil mention Wikipedia again on the air this week? Anyone know which day?

If he did, he's probably been here editing his page. I think this might be his IP: -----, which resolves to -----. Is Ventura the right place? I also think he mentioned he had Adephia? I don't know. (Sorry, I have too much free time...)

Anyhow, Phil, and anyone else who edits this page - if you're reading this, create an account and login. This page is vandalized so much that any anonymous user edits are immediately checked, and we might unknowingly revert valuable edits when trying to clean up some vandalism by another anonymous user.

Note from Phil Hendrie[edit]

Hi Everyone.

This is the real Phil Hendrie. I love this site but you need to know there is a scumbag who threatened my family and repeatedly goes on about how I was fired from KFI. his ip is . Now the only reason why I say this is because information is information or this site is a joke. I think it can be valuable. I would appreciate people watching my back on this. I can prove I am who I say I am...send me an e-mail at phs@philhendrieshow.com...I will respond. In the meantime, to the guy that has been involved in this vandalizing...not a problem..but you stepped over line when you involved my family and brother, you made the biggest mistake of your life. Hide while you can.

Phil Hendrie Phil Hendrie 02:10 16 September 2005 (UTC)

I'm still here Phil. Your such a sick liar saying I threatened your family. I never did anything like that. Your a sick sad man.

10:58, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

What's wrong with saying that you were replaced by that host, because KFI thought he could get better ratings in that slot? I've got two sources saying this, laradio.com and the host himself. So what your saying is that everyone is lying and has a personal vendatta against you? The XTRA sports program director has even said that your ratings werent great on KFI, but that they would be great on XTRA Sports. "Hendrie brings a 4 share with Men 25-54. A 4 on KFI doesn't do much. A 4 on my radio station does a lot. And it is all men numbers." If information is true it can't be slander. I also find it interesting that you hate laradio.com, yet you would read a top ten list they complied. Also why did your program director speak to this lying ass site then? Let's just say "In Feburay 2005, KFI replaced his show with a conservative talker. His show has since been moved to XTRA sports 570 am, a local L.A sports station." Just because information is negative about you, doesn't mean the page is being vandalized. And you calling laradio.com a gossip site, is opinion not a fact.JackAlm 20:13, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jack,
It is obviously clear by now that you have an agenda. You are addressing the subject of this article but you presume to have information that I don't about my life, my career and my work. You and Vlad and all others who are fighting ferociously to discredit this site with slander are not engaged in scholarly work. It is gossip. The question begs: Things I have said on my show about fact and circumstance are quoted in the article and yet me very clearly stating that I was not fired from KFI is under very suspicious dispute. What I say on my show is quotable but not on this page. This is curious in the very least. You seem to have contacts in the radio industry that you find credible and don't comprehend their self-interest yet you discount the very person who is the subject of this work. The host that replaced me is a conservative talker in keeping with that stations philosophy. (It is quite obvious to me as well that people inside the radio industry have some hand in this maliciousness as these attacks on me have been constant since my coming to the LA market) I am a satrist. I wanted off of that station. I recieved offers from Infinity and ABC at the time but opted to stay in the company because of the unique place I would have on a sports station. Recognizing the obvious bias that is contained in these attacks on me I appeal to the editors of this site, one of whom I have had communication with and who is a fair and serious person. These efforts to insist on information that is hearsay with no credible source (The claim that the program director said I was fired, I note, has suddenly been dropped) are worthy of a gossip blog or an opinion piece. They are not worthy of a site that makes efforts at scholarship and the control that rumormongers insist is theirs discredits this work. Using phrases like "..from what I hear" utterly proves my point) I will say it again, it is slander. And even if it were true, I must ask this: After working at countless radio stations over 32 years, many of which I was fired from, why is it so important to include this particular instance in a piece that focuses, happily, for the most part on the shows content and style? Are there mentions that I was fired from WSB, Atlanta or KVEN, Ventura? And would they go in the article on my say so? That is also a red flag. I would like to invite you to meet with me at my office and we can discuss this face to face. You may meet our COO, talk with the principles and so forth. If after hearing the truth, you still insist on this slander then I would say my case is made. Contact me at phs@philhendrieshow.com.

I'm simply a listener and an advocate of wikipedia. And like many others here I only want to ensure that the articles on this page are efficient and informative. I am sure that for many people who edit this article don't care for your politics. But when someone comes along who is actually disgruntled and blatantly vandalizes-- it will be removed shortly. It's very cool that you visit, so correct anything which is wrong, but it has to remain in NPOV (neutral point of view). Thanks, love the show btw. Vladisglad 23:29, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vlad,

The fact is that apparently no one can cite a credible source as to why Mr. Hendrie left the station. Until we have a verifiable source (see Wikipedia:No original research, I would just as soon not make any generalizations as to why Phil left or didn't leave. And XTRA Sports 570 is demonstrably KLAC, so why was that removed? I'm putting it back in. Calwatch 02:17, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

First things first: don't delete past comments. It ends up being taken out of context. If you want to correct spelling or add facts you didn't think of before, fine, but don't delete entire paragraphs out of hand. It confuses new readers. Use the colon key to indent your comments. Secondly, as a neutral person, laradio.com is a web site. It is like a blog, and is decidedly not a newspaper, even an industry trade paper. I'm sure Don Barrett thinks he has high journalistic standards, but the fact is he is ultimately unaccountable. I don't think there is anything wrong with a statement like On February 21, 2005, Hendrie left KFI to fellow Clear Channel Communications station KLAC, better known to Southern Californians as XTRA Sports 570. I still think this "controversy" (for what it's worth) needs to be addressed, but I can see why putting it in the first few paragraphs might not be such a good idea.
Calwatch 05:53, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Calwatch, you should first read the interview with the XTRA sports program director before you judge. The program director even says that Phil's show might have been but on the Air America station had XTRA sports not picked up his show. This is why I find Phil's claim of willingly leaving KFI dubious. If he was planning on leaving KFI, you think he would of had a station to fall back on, not the Air America station, a station he has personally blasted on air.JackAlm 02:49, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The show is syndicated to somewhere around 100 stations. Phil didn't work for KFI, he doesn't work for XTRA-sports, he works for Premier. the fact that the Los Angeles market is now served by a different station is almost irrelevant, certainly not a "first (or second) paragraph" piece of info. Maybe if Phil wasn't heard in L.A. anymore, perhaps, but since the show is still available in L.A. there really needn't be any mention. The show moving from one station to another is wholly irrelevant to a typical reader. As phil mentioned, why not make a big deal of all the other stations he's been cancelled from and hired on in the last year? or, add them all.. "PHIL WAS FIRED from WXPZ in shittown, rhode island, on july 10th, and in august his show was picked up by WIPE on Nantucket, then he was fired from this station, and hired by another ".. etc. etc... who cares? if this nonsense need continue, I suggest make a seperate section of the article and call it "los angeles market controversy", and put all the KFI / xtra sports BS in it. --Kvuo 01:34, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Phil's Blog[edit]

Phil is such a coward. He thinks that by having a blog that supports Bush it will be the end of his "career" in hollywood? He has such a ego. The main reason he shut it down was because people kept dicking around with him. No one took that blog seriously. I would just leave comments to piss him off, and get him to respond. And being the loser that he was he did! - - Anyone want to guess how long it last before NBC pulls the plug on Phil's show? Phil you really do have a face for radio. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vlad2223 (talkcontribs) 20:54, 2005 December 1 (UTC)

I can't access Phil's blog anymore - it just takes me to a generic server host page. Does this mean it's gone, or that they forgot to pay the monthly bill (it's been about a month, right?). FranksValli 16:16, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You should know that Phil Hendrie has recently confirmed, on his show, that he took down the blog.

Bluesykillerhorn 14:44, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, ok - that explains it. I can only listen to the show here and there since I'm so busy these days :( FranksValli 20:37, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't get a chance to read this but would like to. Is there any way I can still read what was written? Also, what did Phil express as his reasons for taking down the blog? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.137.8.78 (talk) 03:13, 2005 September 30 (UTC)

He took down the blog because, as he put it, he didn't want to be "blackballed" by his soon-to-be new co-workers (the other actors on Fillmore Middle). He basically said that he couldn't hadle argueing with that many "idiots" all at once. And, as far as I know, there isn't any way to see what he had posted unless somebody else had copied it all down and put it somewhere. Bluesykillerhorn 21:03, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What to do with the characters list[edit]

In my recent revision, I've turned the character list into sub-topics, so they can now be linked to. For instance, many of the characters have relations to other characters, so instead of saying "refer to X", we just link to them.

However! The Contents list, which shows up in the article, is a little too big for this article. If no one else has any problems with the length, then it's cool. Otherwise I think we should move all the characters to their own page (i.e. Phil Hendrie Show Characters) and only mention a couple of Hendrie's more popular characters in his main article.

FranksValli 23:41, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

We should get some non-fans to take a look at this page and see what they think, both about this article's current state and the idea of a seperate characters page. I honestly can't say, because I love the show and reading the character descriptions here cracks me up. --relaxathon 04:23, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Big Changes[edit]

  • Information regarding The Phil Hendrie Show is now in a separate article dedicated to the program.
  • Many of the character descriptions have been removed as their inclusion was overkill. Those that remain have been severely edited to remedy poor writing and extraneous anecdotes. If anybody is particularly enthusiastic about a comprehensive character list, it belongs on another website.
  • Info regarding his television pilots and upcoming sitcom have been added to the article about the man himself. Definitely room for more about his career from anybody who has that information...

Disagree. You'll note, for instance, that The Colbert Report has a complete episode guide included therein (The Colbert Report episode guide). There is nothing that says that a complete list of information shouldn't be included. Calwatch 09:10, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I agree with making a separate page about the show, but we don't need to delete all the character info just because there's a lot of it. FranksValli 04:38, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a section about the Leykis/Hendrie feud and Phil's political views and their effect on his show. I feel both are relevant and interesting to Phil Hendrie.--Xijjix 01:04, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

in relation to... us[edit]

some one said on the Hitler discussion page that vandalism there was a result of Hendrie calling on his listeners to disrupt Wikipedia's basic philosophy by vandalising the page. if anyone heard him say this, was he serious enough to be worthy of an edit? maybe it should be on the show page. --Urukagina 1/3/06

I don't think so. In-between bits, Hendrie goes on rants, and one night he just happened to be talking about Wikipedia (probably because of what he felt was misrepresentation of his career in the article about him -- scroll up, he even contributed to this Talk page). It was just a half-joking suggestion he happened to make about three times in the course of the rant, and it was broadcast all over the country, so...I don't know, I don't think it's noteworthy enough, personally, as much of a pain in the ass it was for the admins here.

Update on Phil/Wikipedia[edit]

I think the comment that Wikipedia is about scholarship and not rumour or gossip to be exactly the point. I find Wikipedia to be a noble effort but, as in the case of Phil Hendrie, the subjects of many articles are too controversial for objective contribution to be heard above the din. If Hendrie is not a "source," then why is John Zieglar or Don Barrett? Is there a quote from the program director published anywhere that says he fired Phil? Hendrie has said many things on his show that would obviously incite someone to discredit him. Until Wikipedia can insure the factual accuracy of what it presents, the effort itself is comprimised. The "Wikipedia Version Of The Consitution" joke that was going around might not be too far from the truth, were the Constitution presented here and then subject to the editing of agenda-riddled people. Wikipedia should survive. It will however take real effort on the part of people interested in facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Betty Cohen (talkcontribs) 04:21, 2006 February 16 (UTC)

Look I'm not denying that Phil is talent, I think KFI made a dumb move in replacing him with Ziegler. But Phil would never voluntarily leave the highest rated talk station to a lower rated sports station. All I'm saying is that Phil shouldn't lie to his auidence. You have to subscribe to laradio.com to find the quote from the XTRA sports program director saying that Phil was forced out of KFI. Phil has a fragile ego, and had to attack when the truth is being revealed. He fed his audience his story of why he left KFI, and doesn't want anyone to challenge it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evil Phil (talkcontribs) 06:29, 2006 February 17 (UTC)

You can argue if there is any point in even mentioning it within his main biography article. He didn't even work at KFI studios, he had his own. He goes on and off at different stations around the country. All I'm sayin.

Historical Innacuracies[edit]

I am new to this, and might need your help.

The section titled Views and Blog has a sentence that reads: "Despite evidence to the contrary, he continues to believe WMDs will be discovered in Iraq." This sentence is historically inaccurate, since this matter is still being debated/discussed and/or investigated. The sentence could probably be more accurate as: "He believes that WMDs will be finally discovered in Iraq."

Thanks, jerry.mills

Changed above sentence on 20 APR 2006

Silent Scream[edit]

Just what is the "infamous 'Silent Scream' martial arts technique"? Could someone state what this is in the article? --DanielCD 01:53, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. Metoo. —Viriditas | Talk 05:47, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed POV Quotation Marks[edit]

Article has been edited (modernized?) without any notes. I also removed the quotation marks from "War On Terror". The statement War On Terror is an official term. Medals are being issued in the DOD for soldiers who fought the War On Terror. These medals are: Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Quotation marks show a POV, making the actual conflict diminished and shows bias and lack of neutrality.

Needs more explaination[edit]

The feud came to a boiling point at a National Association Of Broadcasters convention, when Hendrie walked up to Leykis and did the infamous "Silent Scream" martial arts technique, leaving Leykis in a brief state of confusion. This event was witnessed by other broadcasters in attendance, and Orange County Courier journalist Doug Dannger.

Doug Danger is a character created by and performed by Phil Hendrie; therefore, he could not have witnessed any exchange between Hendrie and Leykis.

This all needs to be cleared up. DD is indeed a character and not a real person and no one seems to know what this "silent scream" business it. Please don't replace any of this until it is made clear what the above material means. --DanielCD 20:34, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Phil to end radio show to pursue television[edit]

This SUCKS! No reason to own a radio anymore..

Huge mistake. Teachers will fail. It might come back, but no way is it going to be long running show. No one wants to see Phil's old face. He should stick to what he does best. In the the article he mentions being sick of terrestrial radio, maybe this will lead Phil back to radio, Sirius to be more specific. Person182

Are these just rumors floating around? I heard him say this four years ago. I agree that he is likely to stick with radio as that is where he excels. --DanielCD 21:16, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe rumor until tonights show - we'll find out. Just listened to the last few minutes of last night's show and it sounded like he was leaving. He was talking about how TV pays so much more and requires less time investment, and no FCC hassle. The last thing he did was say something to the effect of "oh yeah, and to the realm of radio..." followed by a truck horn honking. So we'll find out for sure soon, if not tonight. FranksValli 00:29, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can't listen to the show yet until I get off work, but from reading the posts on Sweetfeatheryjesus.com, it looks like Phil's talking about it on the show and it's all depressing and stuff. Another link to the announcement, this time from his employer, Premiere radio networks... http://www.premiereradio.com/news/view/133.html

He was on an episode of The Unit last night. A TV show about an elite Delta force of Army soldiers. He played a radio talk show host at a station one of the wives works at. I added it in the page. MonkBirdDuke 20:16, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

new direction[edit]

Hi all, I added a heading called "New Direction," and put the expand tag on it. Updated information about Phil's TV and acting work could be put in this section. New dirction might not be the best heading title, but it was all I could think of. Any suggestions to make it better?

There's only one Phil Hendrie--that's for sure. I don't think anybody could ever duplicate his show. My favorite character was Art Bell and General Jameson. LOLOLOL I laugh so hard just thinking about it. Phil's comedics helped me get through a rough time a few years back. I'll always be grateful for that. KarateLadyKarateLady 12:52, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was my favorite bit too, by far.  :) FranksValli 01:07, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is the "New Direction" title a Rick Emerson reference? Just curious.RWgirl 00:10, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phil Hendrie dead[edit]

Did he die of stomach cancer? What if someone made Wikipedia say that he did? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.93.229.62 (talk) 05:34, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, and that person would be warned under WP:BLP guidelines. Further attempts to make "Wikipedia say that he did?" would result in a block of the account. Ok?--Sethacus 15:16, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nice try. On 18th August... you, 216.93.229.62 made that claim he died of stomach cancer. see link :[[3]]. You have been warned and blocked on this page and the Steve Martin page. see link: [4] about inserting false claims in direct violation of the WP:BLP guidelines. Heh. I thought this seemed familiar. Nice to see he's gone from liver cancer to stomach cancer. *eyes rolling*--Sethacus 20:09, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect of Jay Santos to here?[edit]

I would like to inquire as to why Jay Santos is redirected to this article. I noticed it from a ill placed link on Hell's Kitchen (U.S. season 7) and discovered it was a blue link. From what I can tell via WP, there is no tie between the names. A google search [5] shows a few sources, but not enough to qualify as a redirect, nor is there any content in the page to signify why Jay Santos belongs here. Depending on the results of the season finale a disambiguation page may need to be created to qualify the 2 different entities as Jay Santos is also a chef who is participating in Hell's Kitchen.
