links[edit]

Hello. Please note that you can write birthday attack; there's no need for the underscore in birthday_attack, and the former looks better IMO. Michael Hardy 22:46, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

       I didn't edit that part... Wrong person. Comatose51 12:45, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Zhang (surname)/Zhang Ziyi[edit]

Uh, Zhang Ziyi's surname is referred to (along with other surnames that are rendered "Zhang" in pinyin) in Zhang (surname). --Nlu (talk) 12:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is definitely ambiguous since the article mostly talk about the more common Zhang. Perhaps we should list her name in a different section.Comatose51 13:34, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chi-ling Lin Mediation Request[edit]

I've accepted the request for mediation on this article. Please leave a quick note on my talk page that you're aware of this and we can begin the discussion there. Flakeloaf 16:39, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

From your comments while editing Opinions on the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy, you seem to be under the impression that there is a policy permitting removal of paid links from Wikipedia. There is no such policy. Where we can, we prefer free links, but if they are unavailable, paid links are cartainly permitted. You should not remove information from WIkipedia merely because it is referenced by paid Internet sites. - Nunh-huh 05:49, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links#Sites_requiring_registration Comatose51 05:50, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've read the style guideline, and I've seen its history. The guideline you are misreading defines itself as not applying to citation links. Reference links to paid sites are permitted. - Nunh-huh 05:55, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've been removing mainly links from one site. You might well have a good reason for doing so. (If, as you say, they were spammed, for example). But that reason really shouldn't be "you have to pay". There's no requirement that references even be online! If you have any question about this, perhaps you should start a discussion at the talk page of the guideline you cited...but there's never been a ban on subscription-required references. - Nunh-huh 05:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, it seems that I'm wrong in regards of the policy. I was mixing up external links and citations. But how does one even verify the citations if we can't get access to them? Comatose51 05:59, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have to rely on others to do that, if you don't have a subscription. - Nunh-huh 06:00, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Is there an easy way to mass undo my edits? Just wasted a good 30 minutes chasing down those links. :-( Thanks BTW. Comatose51 06:02, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can take care of it... - Nunh-huh 06:06, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I think I've reverted everything with an edit summary where you gave "paid" as a reason. You might want to look at the others if you think they might need undoing. - Nunh-huh 06:10, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for all the help. Comatose51 06:15, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. - Nunh-huh 06:20, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you'd like a copy/paste of a particular citation's source from Stratfor, I believe User:Geo Swan has a subscription - so you could probably politely ask him to check for you. Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 07:01, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dambit we marry young roun'cher...[edit]

But not even Tommy Moore young...thanks! Feel free to crawl through my other edits as well. Flowanda | Talk 03:12, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL. That thought actually did cross my mind. It was a different era back then but 11 seem a little young even for the South.Comatose51 (talk) 03:15, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: Image:DSC 0026.NEF.jpg[edit]

Image:DSC 0026.NEF.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:International Finance Centre Hong-Kong China.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:International Finance Centre Hong-Kong China.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 08:55, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
