Locator Maps on Foreign relations articles

Hello VolatileChemical.....Um, well what I want to ask you is that how do you create and put up those Locator maps on "Foreign relations" articles, like for example the one that you created in India-US relations, because I've got a fair amount to do those for Foreign relations of Pakistan. I know that its got something to do with the software "Inkscape" but I just need a bit of a detailed idea. It'll be very helpful if you even just provide a simple explanation. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. Project news Cities and municipalities task force The task force dedicated to creating and improving articles on all German cities and municipalities is happy to announce that there are now (at least) stub articles for all municipalities of Germany. Now the task force is looking for help in fleshing these out a little bit. The current phase of activity for the task force is to copy in infoboxes from the articles in German Wikipedia. If you want to help, even just for a few articles, look at the instructions and links here Article Assessment: There are now way over 26.000 articles tagged as part of our Wikiproject and many still need either an importance or a quality assessment. Also there are many more out there that do need to be tagged like approx 8000 municipalities. Sweeney Todd

I see you were listed as a participant in the League of Copy-Editors so it seems likely you can ... The thing is the Military history wikiproject urgently needs prose pros to help with our best articles. Milhist covers a broad range of interesting and varied subjects from film to biography, battles to weaponry, and Roman emperors to twentieth-century dictators. In Milhist, A-Class has become the last port of call before FAC and we are looking for people to help identify prose and MoS issues at A-Class A-Class Reviews and help fix them prior to featured article candidacy. We also have a copy-editing section in our Logistics Dept and that can always use experienced copy-editors. For most of our articles, you don't need to be a specialist in the subject matter, just good with words.

First, thank you very much for responding to the call. I'm sorry it's taken a bit of time to get back to you but I've got the builders in at home (and they're causing chaos) and I've got very behind.

Second, we need help on a couple of levels. we are so short of good copy-editors, partly because of the large number of Milhist articles at PR and FAC, that we're trying to concentrate on A-Class reviews and featured article candidates. I've taken the liberty of transcluding our new tracker template, listing the applicable articles. To add this to your user pages independently of this message, simply cut and paste {{WPMILHIST Copy-editing alerts}} to the required location.

A-Class - copy-tasting / reviewing

We are currently trying to improve the depth and quality of the Milhist A-Class review. What will help here considerably is copy-tasting. That is, reviewing an article and commenting on the style and prose. Clarity, longwindedness (the bane of Milhist), grammar, mixing and matching WP:ENGVAR varieties, MoS stuff (especially dashes), date formatting etc. (Any subsequent copy-editing would be a very welcome and helpful bonus!) Input on any current A-Class candidate would be helpful.

Copy-editing pre-FA and FA candidates

Editors normally take articles go from ACR to FAC, usually via a request for a copy-edit. These requests are usually made here or by leaving messages on copy-editors talk pages. You can respond to requests there or list yourself as a copy-editor so that others may contact you. Either would be very much appreciated. Additionally, a frequent reason for opposition is prose and some hands-on copy-editing of FA candidates would be enormously helpful. (If you do subsequently support the article, please do remember to disclose the copy-edit: ie Support (as copy-editor) though you may prefer simply to Comment that a copy-edit has been done.)

Why is everyone so persnickety about including Ruth Madoff's lack of due diligence? facts are facts and this fact had two sourced external links and a quote from the aggrieved party. This will be the beginning of a list of indiscretions for her. Would you rather begin a new page for her? According to the NY Times, they are inseparable. so... her accomplishments or failures are credit worthy for documentation. She cheated another who had the rights to her book title, and went ahead with publishing and lost a lot of money for her publisher, just like her hubby for his clients, so water seeks its own level...

Painting diameter

Hey, I've been slowly going through Category:Wikipedia pages with deprecated artwork infobox syntax to try to clean up the various generations of parameters that those templates use. I'd like to regularize them so that I can further improve the infobox code.

I noticed that in this edit from 2006 you added an infobox to the Office in a Small City article, and that in the dimensions you included a diameter. Since the painting appears to be a normal, flat rectangle, I'm confused as to how the piece has a "diameter", but I figured I'd ask about it before simply deleting the diameter parameters. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits|⚡}} 21:42, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:

• adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
• updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
• creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.
