i think they should be more specific I think the part on Albania is correct, but needs some improvement concerning tone and neutrality:

"Despite some stubborn resistance, especially at Durrës, the Italians made short shrift of the Albanians." Is that the correct style?

The part on Albania is also much too long compared to the rest of the article, it should perhaps be shortened and an extra article or reference to a "history of Albania" article should be created.

Sorry, I don't have an en.wiki account, I come from de.wiki, so excuse the language. Gnome

Merging[edit]

I suggest that this page be merged into History of Italy. This page details the entire history of the nation-state Italy from it's birth in 1861 to the end of the world war in 1945. History of Italy briefly mentions the birth of the nation-state, and has some text about origins of culture and name, and a small note on the fascist government and current EU membership. The History of Italy article should be more detailed, and this article's existence strikes me as odd. What do you think? --Jobjörn 10:52, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Remember that the recommended maximum size of a Wikipedia article is around 64 Kbytes. Besides, now that all the sections of Italian history have their own subpages, this one doesn't look so odd any more. --Alvestrand 06:28, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This article is much inferior to the History of Italy article. Some parts of this article are just pure fantasy and propaganda and not even pretending to be historically accurate. For example, "The Socialist period" subsection is just utter nonsense. There is no need to merge this page with another, just get rid of it, there is nothing here worth keeping!

Suggest Move[edit]

I suggest to move this to Kingdom of Italy, and move the current Kingdom of Italy page to Kingdom of Italy (Disambiguation). Then, add an nation infobox corresponding to Italy between 1861 and 1946. Does this seem reasonable?- The Gonz 05:00, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly agree to merge the two articles, that are basicly a duplicate of each other. --Conte di Cavour (talk) 20:00, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly agree. Rjensen (talk) 02:33, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I strongly disagree. This page, History of the Kingdom of Italy (1861–1946), should just be deleted as the existing Kingdom of Italy article is far superior. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.117.74 (talk) 22:42, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
