Welcome, and thanks for working on LOTD. I wanted to explain my last edit. Per WP:NOT#Wikipedia is not a dictionary and WP:MOSDAB, disambiguation pages shouldn't list every possible abbreviation, only abbreviations that have an encyclopedia article should be listed.

On the other hand, wiktionary is a dictionary, and to some extent they allow for lists of abbreviations (for example, see wikt:BF). I'm not familiar enough with their policy there, but for some reason, they also don't usually have the sort of extensive listings that TheFreeDictionary does. Anyway, on wikipedia, it's best to keep to entries that have (or are likely to have) encyclopedia articles. --Interiot 17:50, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete notice[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kapal Bhati Pranayama, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Buddhipriya 08:25, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Toor[edit]

The article Toor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. In all my years of looking, the only sort-of reliable source I have found which mentions this community is this, which is basically a passing mention in a list. According to that source, it isn't even a major gotra but rather a sub-gotra. Redirecting to Banjara won't really work because I am sure that, as a sub-gotra, the thing does exist across various castes rather than just one (yes, this is WP:OR but it is based on a lot of experience).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Toor for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Toor is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Toor until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Sitush (talk) 08:09, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
