Origin?[edit]

It would be useful to know - was the series English, American or other  ?

I believe it was from the US - IMDB confirms this. I have a vague memory of it being part of a rotating set of series running in the same time slot, but I could be mistaken (Like the early episodes of Columbo, MacMillan and Wife and McCloud). IMDB page has user comment saying it was part of The NBC Wednesday Mystery Movie rotating with Madigan and Cool Million, neither of which I remember much. I always thought Banacek was like Mission: Impossible inside out - the unravelling of how an imposssible seeming heist was pulled off. ~ WCFrancis 01:29, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It is an American show. --McTrixie/Mr Accountable 17:46, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Worth including note on theme music?[edit]

I do remember the music being distinctive. FriendlyRiverOtter (talk) 21:34, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Banaczek" not so rare in Poland...[edit]

The name "Banaczek" ("Banacek" is a corrupted form of this surname) is not so rare in Poland. There are currently 251 people of this name in Poland: [1]. --Barry Kent (talk) 23:58, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

10%?[edit]

The article says Banacek collected 10% of the insured value of the recovered property, but I seem to recall that one of the points of contention with his rival Kirkland was that he actually demanded and got 15%, which she considered excessive. Can anyone with access to the DVDs confirm this? Philip Trueman (talk) 01:28, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
