Wealthiest cities in Ohio[edit]

Discussion page huh? Does that mean I can ask what the wealthiest cities in Ohio are, and someone might actually have an answer??? I was just wondering since, after driving around Dublin, it would seem to be a very wealthy city. If anyone has any stats on the wealth of cities in Ohio, feel free to post!

See Ohio locations by per capita income. Dublin is ranked 27th in Ohio by per capita income (among all municipalities, not just cities), and fifth amongst Columbus suburbs (after New Albany, Riverlea, Powell, and Upper Arlington). Among cities, Dublin would appear to be 8th in Ohio (after Indian Hill, Pepper Pike, Powell, Montgomery, Upper Arlington, Oakwood, and Shaker Heights). I don't have stats on total wealth, but as Upper Arlington has both greater population and per capita income, it seems likely that this city, at least, is "wealthier" than Dublin.
The greatest per capita income in Ohio can be found in Hunting Valley, a suburb east of Cleveland. Many of the Cleveland suburbs along Interstate 271 have greater per capita incomes than the Columbus suburbs along Interstate 270... proof that old money beats new money. ;-) -- SwissCelt 04:57, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Swiss Celt" is absolutely correct...Having grown up in the Chagrin River Valley (Pepper Pike, Chagrin Falls, Gates Mills, Hunting Valley) and currently living in Dublin, without question the southeastern suburbs of Greater Cleveland are considerably more affluent than anywhere else in Ohio...(Al)

Don't forget Bexley, Ohio that is land locked by Columbus on the near east side of Columbus. It is home to many wealthy attorneys, the Schottensteins family, Ohio Governors house, Germain family, and many other wealthy people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.236.202.36 (talk) 20:31, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Athletics[edit]

I removed the athletics section. This is not appropriate for the city page. If someone wants to put this information on an individual page about the particular High School, they should feel free. Analoguekid 19:51, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Swimmers[edit]

The two have done tremendous things for the cities aquatics programs. Both have donated their time and effort to expand the aquatics in Dublin. They have done so while being the msot successful swimmers ever to graze Dublin. Everyone affilated with the aquatics programs are very fond of them for their success and sacrifices they have made for the city. Swimmers don't get the justice they deserve by all the hourse of training they put in. It would be a disgrace and dishonor not to include them in this section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.60.223.120 (talk) 19:22, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war re: "partner" wording[edit]

87.97.61.208 can you explain why you reverted my edit restoring the established consensus regarding the wording? The other IP was blocked for vandalizing the page and you are restoring their version, which is unneeded. Courtasy pings to Meters, Drummingman and Hey man im josh. -"Ghost of Dan Gurney" 20:13, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The suggestion that "he had begun to survey lots for the new village with his partner, an Irish gentleman named John Shields." should have "his partner" piped to homosexuality because '"his partner" implies he is gay' is ludicrous. I don't think the addition of "business" is necessary, but I have no objection to the change, other than it appears likely that the IP who has most recently restored the new wording is a sock. Both IPs are on the same ISP, they are from nearly identical locations in Hungary, and the two edits the new IP has made were both to restore edits previously made by the now-blocked IP. Meters (talk) 20:41, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I too think it is silly to believe the average reader would infer anything homosexual about the current wording ("his partner"), but had stayed out of the war because I also have no real preference... if some readers might be confused about it, and an editor (that claims to be one of those readers) believes adding the word "business partner" will clarify any said confusion for future readers, who am I to object? it still reads just fine... can anyone explain how the addition of this one word is not a general improvement to the article? - Adolphus79 (talk) 21:54, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I must have misread the logs. The IP has confirmed that both IPs were the same user, but the block on the first IP had expired before the new IP made either restore. Meters (talk) 05:49, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am opposed to the change on the premise that it was made from a homophobic perspective. If this user (who has admitted to being the same user) tried to pipe "homosexuality" and is willing to edit war over it before somewhat relenting to adding "business partner", then I simply cannot see their edits in good faith and I reject any notion that this users edits are in any way a net positive to the project. -"Ghost of Dan Gurney" 16:30, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
