Copy/paste removed[edit]

Below is the content that I removed from the article because it was copy/pasted from here. I'm putting it here so someone with time can rewrite it and put it back in the article. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 15:56, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I rewrote the article, though some of the Geography stuff I had to leave as is, as I don't know enough about it, I didn't want to mess with the sentences and mess the information up. Otherwise, the sections have been rewritten. Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 16:26, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Subzero temperature[edit]

The article states "Anaktuvuk Pass is also the only place in the US to record a subzero June temperature" - Fahrenheit, I presume? We should say so. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 15:16, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's an understatement ... it was in fact -11 on June 28, narrowly missing occurring in July. But I doubt it's the ONLY place to record such so I removed that. Lollipop (talk) 23:11, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

taken from the Western Region Climate Center, of wrcc.dri.edu, supplier of much of our other climate data. DRI.edu has no ads on its site and is liable for the quality of its data in a way that commercial websites are not. given the wide gap between the two data sources i suspect dri.edu is the right one. please let me know if you have any questions.Soap 18:05, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

the old src says its data is " collected between 1982 and 2012." but the wx station in Anaktuvuk Pass was closed in 1972. i suspect the old src pulled data from a nearby station, and is thus inaccurate. but no further clarification is given on their site. Soap 18:07, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just found and removed *another* climate data box which I somehow missed all this time, from Anaktuvuk Pass. I apologize I dont have time to look deeper right now, as I only get online with a full size PC a few hours per week. But the data I removed was described as just "NOAA" and not tied to any user-retrievable data. I doubt that they could both be correct. I will look more into this when I can. name[edit]

currently says Anaktuvuk Pass was named after the Anaktuvik River. Anaktuvuk is the English way of spelling annaqtugvik place of caribou droppings in Inupiaq, the language of the Inupiat.[9]

So is it annaqtugvik or Anaqtuuvak? Both cant be right. Soap 18:14, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
