How did the Chozo leave Tallon IV?

I don't remember this. Is this in the North American version? I'm pretty sure that it's not in the European version. AFAIK in my version it just says that the Chozo left.

I do recall Metroid Prime stating that the Chozo became spirits in some way - the Chozo ghosts are Chozo who were 'corrupted' in some fashion (probably by the Phazon). -Sean Curtin 02:50, Sep 4, 2004 (UTC)

The two different versions of MP cause all kinds of storyline hiccups for the Wikipedia, don't they? :) Anyway, I guess it must be only in my North American version, so I added a note about that. Also, it specifically says in my version what happened to the wandering Chozo spirits. The Phazon meteor chrashing into Tallon IV messed them all up, but some more than others - the ghosts you fight are "the Turned," Chozo driven completely mad by the Phazon radiation. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 17:31, Sep 4, 2004 (UTC)

Yeah I've looked over the some of the chozo lore entries on gamefaqs.com and they tell a different story. In the european version AFAIK the chozo just left. And we aren't actually told if the chozo ghosts are chozo at all. All it says is that they are entities that take on chozo form. ____Ebelular 23:15, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hmm, interesting. Well, why not add that to the article? Both versions are, of course, totally valid. ^_^ I already know about some of the differences - I write fanfiction via AIM with an English friend, and we've bumped into the version differences many a time. Eventually we might actually compare all our entries and see what kind of weirdness comes up. Can't believe I forgot to do this. After I read that I sat down a transcribed from my game because there is mainly North American versions out there. The Chozo lore entries in the North American version state it in a convoluted manner, but when you think about it, that's what it means. "The Chozo are departing now, after so many years in quiet seclusion on Tallon IV." The log entry that starts with that line goes on to say that the Chozo had acheived this enlightenment, had no need for mortal bodies anymore, and would remain "ever watchful". Another log entry, about when the Phazon came, says that they had inhabited a distant place where time and distance had no meaning. They left their bodies behind willingly and roamed a new dimension where timespace was distorted or something like that. They wandered this dimension as spirits. These log entries state these fact's obscurely, but once you get down to it, that's what they're saying. -Jetman123 13:53, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Choujin vs. Chojin

Doesn't Chojin mean Super-God? Is Choujin an alternate spelling or a different word? I can't see the Kanji.

Well, for what it's worth, I ran the second set of chracters through the Babel Fish and got "Bird human family." I know absolutely nothing about Japanese, but it looks like choujin-zoku means what the article says it does... --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 23:38, Sep 16, 2004 (UTC)

Indeed, completely different kanji are used for "Super-God", they're homonyms. Chojin is an alternative spelling for both "bird-people" and "super-god", just depends if you romanise the extended vowel. AstroBlue 11:43, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

other homonyms using different kanji could produce "butterfly-people" or "great people" if you wanna get absolutely literal. ^_^

Chozo Lore (Metroid Prime)

Is the section Chozo Lore (Metroid Prime) copyed from the game? If so it's copyvio. Also it's written with an unencyclopedic tone --Melaen 01:27, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

Extinct?

The scan of the shriekbat from Meroid Hunters says "the inhabitants of Talon IV have called for the eradication of this species..." Is this enough evidence to prove the Chozo are not extinct?

No, remember the alimbics were around thousands of years ago, so that was an old scan. (11987 06:20, 7 July 2006 (UTC))

Nope. A Pirate computer scan, as well as various others, mention everything from small settlements to monastaries, none of which seem related to the Chozo. --Pants of Destiny 17:50, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

The Chozo are not extinct. In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, you'll find a scan that explains the "Talon IV Incident". This explains that, about 50 years prior to the Prime series, Tallon IV was struck by a giant object containing mass amounts of Phazon, which the Chozo managed to hold back. It ended up killing many Chozo, but there WERE survivors who fled to an unknown location. This has not yet been documented in any current Metroid game other than Corruption, so there is a possibility that in a future Metroid title, Samus may encounter the surviving Chozo. -D14BL0 04:47, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Those Chozo are presumably the ones who raised Samus, considering she is younger than 50 years old, which would make the "unknown location" Zebes. Since Zebes later became a Space Pirate base, those Chozo are either now dead, or fled again. Keep in mind, Samus is infused with 1/6 Chozo blood, so she may be way older than 50 years, and not have aged. If I remember correctly, the Chozo had very long life spans. I don't believe that Samus' actual age has ever been verified. -D14BL0 19:46, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Bird statue or Sculped statue

I'm having trouble locating a place where the chozo statues are written in japanese. The way I see it, chouzou could either mean "bird statue" or "sculped statue". Also if it's the former that would make it synonomous with "torizo" meaning "bird statue"

History section

Would you guys like a history section for the Chozo, in a similar format to what I did with the Luminoth page? I people want, i'd be happy to make a section that explains all the lores and stuff without actually posting them. Anyone want a section like that? (11987 23:53, 12 July 2006 (UTC))

That would be a marvelous idea.

"Energy Manipulation"

A scan of the Luminoth in MP2 reveals that the Luminoth have "technology and energy manipulation" or something to that end. The same Luminoth (U-Mos, I think) is shown using a glowing yellow ball that looks like an energy orb to attract moths.

So, what exactly are those orbs? Hunters alludes to them a bit. Where should information about that energy go? I know it's jsut a gameplay device, but they're trying to implement it into the story, liek almost everything else...
