What about Kensington Market, London, UK?

Re Layton: They don't live in the Market, they live east of Spadina.

Re: Pedestrian Sundays[edit]

As the current president of KMAC and a PS volunteer, I have been able to witness that there is no widespread fear of trying to make the market entirely car-free (the Sundays are in their 6th year and have become well integrated) and have removed the text about that that was requiring citations.Paradise coyote (talk) 20:49, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reorganization[edit]

I have put topics together into related categories. I have removed some commercial material. I have added balanced comments on a couple of subtopics. I have put references into Wikipedia format. My hope is that future contributors will be able to expand and improve material here, both adding content, adding sources, and keeping closer to WP:NPOV and less personal opinion.Avt tor 14:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Error[edit]

There's a problem with internal linkage; The Boat links to a SanFran page. This link either needs to be removed, or a a page for Kensington night life needs to be made.

Edit[edit]

I made changes to the first paragraph only. Information stays the same, edited for clarity and syntax only. If anyone has changes/suggestions, please go ahead.

Does anyone know if the market was once closed to cars, somewhere back in the 60's and 70's?

Removed unreferenced links[edit]

Ones promoting clubs that linked to Wikipedia entries that were not the same (ie: the nightclub "The Supermarket" linked to the Wikipedia page for a common supermarket). No citations and self-promotion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.34.54.90 (talk) 21:55, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Marijuana Culture[edit]

Regarding the Marijuana Culture section I believe that this section is not completely accurate due to the fact that there is no sourcing and without this the information is not considered valid and legitimate. I believe that this showcases the neighbourhood in the negative and will deter people from visiting the neighbourhood. I also feel that because smoking Marijuana is illegal in Canada this automatically voids the accuracy of this section and I strongly encourage this section to be removed. I am an Urban Planning student at Ryerson University in downtown Toronto and I have studied this neighbourhood for the past 12 weeks including visiting numerous times. The observations about the "marijuana culture" are at odds with my experience in the Market and I strongly feel that this post over exaggerates what is being said when it is most likely just be a case of a "behind closed doors" scenario. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryan.labranche (talkcontribs) 16:37, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was just at Roach-o-rama today, saw people smoking up in the back room. siafu (talk) 00:51, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
