British Slang vs. Pejorative term[edit]

Aren't the "British slang" definition of "sod" and the "pejorative" definition of "sod" really the same thing (i.e. short for sodomite)? Taco Deposit | Talk-o Deposit 21:41, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)

I think the name for a sod house I read somewhere is soddie, don't know if the spelling is right, but someone might consider adding that to the section of the article on sod houses.

Installing Sod[edit]

installing sod should be it's own page or a section within the article, not in the beginning section. Cite sources!

First mowing of freshly installed sod[edit]

At the beginning of a prestigious building project there is often a ceremonial occasion attended by local dignitaries. A senior dignitary is often given the honour of Cutting the first sod, marking the official beginning of the project.

Moved this to the talk page. This paragraph refers to the British term "cut the first sod" which is equivalent to the American term "break ground". I don't really think this is in scope for the article.. thoughts? Perel (talk) 22:11, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External Links[edit]

I don't see how including an external link to a page that expressly shows you how to install sod yourself without any sales information could be considered vandalism. Here is the page in question: http://www.evergreenturf.com/do-it-yourself/index.php 70.184.122.73 (talk) 18:51, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bella Bluegrass[edit]

Redirecting to Poa doesn't make much sense to me. Same for Poa pratensis, which is probably the actual redirect target, but doesn't really lead to more info about this grass. --70.24.5.195 (talk) 16:05, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Linking "grass" in sports contexts[edit]

A question about the linking of "grass" in sports contexts (mostly within infobox fields) is being discussed at Template talk:Infobox venue#Grass as a surface in sports venues. Around a thousand articles will eventually be affected. – Uanfala (talk) 13:48, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
