==Work in progress I do acknowledge that this article has its gaps, as it is a work in progress. However, at least it's in better shape than part II. 172

Changed the date of the formation of the USSR based on this document, which gives it as December 30, 1922. --dcsohl, December 17, 2003

The Red Terror[edit]

User:172, I note you have removed the link to the Red Terror from the article History of Russia and the Soviet Union (1917-1927), This was one of Lenin's most important policies for which there is good historical evidence. Please replace this link. Fred Bauder 15:49, Apr 19, 2004 (UTC)

A quote from Gulag: A History, 'The Red Terror was crucial to Lenin's struggle for power. Concentration camps, the so-called "special camps," were crucial to the Red Terror. They are mentioned in the very first decree on Red Terror...' She footnotes that decree as being titled, "On Red Terror" and as being published in Sbornik, September 5, 1918, page 11.

Restoring this article[edit]

I want to restore this article rather than having it redirect. This period of Soviet history is quite interesting and involved and deserves its own article. Fred Bauder 22:47, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)
