Untitled[edit]

I would agree with whoever left the previous comment. This article seems more like a defense of Erice against critics than a neutral recording of factual information. The POV needs to be altered. Bankuroku 00:30, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yore to ready to call him a 'master'. Why do we need such stridant value-judgments in an ensiclopaedia artical?

Obviously, this text has been copied from somewhere else. Let's rework it a bit and it will do. Miguel Andrade 03:29, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article may be improved by following the WikiProject Biography 11 easy steps to producing at least a B article.-- Jreferee 18:35, 20 March 2007 (UTC) (I teach cinema in new york State) We do not need to call Erice a Master - though general consensus places him in very high esteem. the following two articles from the Guardian can shed some light on current critical opinion, however. http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/film/2008/01/spain_uncensored_bfi.html and http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/film/2007/10/pompidou_postcards_from_cinemas_cutting_edge.html In Spain he is placed at the top of the pantheon, most especially for 'Beehive' which opened the doors for a subtle regime critique during Franco's last years, while youn ger directors (such as Mexico's Guillermo del Toro) reference Erice's work, notably in 'Pan's Labyrinth' which bears remarkable similarity to 'Beehive'.[reply]

El Sur ran into financing problems - not a fault of the producer Querejeta, but a sudden volte face by the Spanish film commission, who did not make good on a promised subvention. Erice (and Querejeta?) decided to make only the first half of their planned film. the second part never got made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.15.34.192 (talk) 11:34, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV removed[edit]

I've removed the NPOV template, please use {{POV-section}} or better yet {{POV-statement}} for sentences, then detail issues here. This will help address them in a timely manner. - RoyBoy 22:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
