Untitled[edit]

I think it is wrong to call Enver Hoxha a President of Albania. First, there was no President when Hoxha was in power. Second, the Head of State was a collegial body. Third, Hoxha never leaded that body. In the Communist Albania, as in other Communist countries since Stalin, the party leadership by the First Secretary or the Secretary General of the Central Committee was higher than the State leadership. About the collegial bodies and their heads, and the exact dates (notice that a President starts functioning a month after his election), see:

"a President starts functioning a month after his election" - this is not a general rule, it was only the case in 2002. Note that the site is incorrect about saying Moisiu was elected on July 24. He was elected on June 24 and took office July 24. --Wik 16:09, Aug 19, 2003 (UTC)
  • It is a shame to allow the kind of vandalism that names an unkown person, such as Beale Stroach, President of Albania. Wikipedia should try to protect its content. Unregistered users should not have the right to edit articles, and newly registered users should only gain the right to directly edit articles after a few positive proposal for edit that would be approved by admins. --Albanian since Stone Age 23:03, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-1912 heads of state[edit]

If I can recall correctly, this article once included the heads of state of medieval Albania, too. The list began with Progon, chief of the first Principality of Albania in 1190, continued with the Anjou kings of the late 1200s, and ended with Lekë Dukagjini, as Skanderbeg's successor after 1468. A remnant of this may be found, for instance, in the French version of the article. The information that has now been removed from this article should be made available either in this or a separate article.

To clarify the matter, I shall ask: (1) Was there any consensus reached or even sought on listing only the heads of state after 1912? (2) Could anyone point to an article that includes the pre-1912 information?

If, for any reason, this article should be restricted to the modern Albanian state, but no article exists for the pre-1912 period, it should be created as soon as possible. For example, List_of_heads_of_state_of_Poland has a link to a list of Polish monarchs before the 20th century.

If nothing is done about this, I suggest we revert to a version that is not restricted to the post-1912 timeline.--Getoar TX (talk) 20:53, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, we already have List of Albanian monarchs for the pre-1912 period... As for this article, it should include only the post-1912 period, i.e. only heads of the modern Albanian state. --Sundostund (talk) 00:07, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So , between 1914 and 1925 , what then ? Also, it seems very strange to claim that Hoxha was the head of state during one year, without clarification.Lathamibird (talk) 23:10, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
