  • I work as a maths teacher in the UK
  • I have an interest in astronomy, especially the historical aspects
  • I'm looking forward to the Venus transit on June 8th, 2004 (I bet the weather is cloudy that day)
  • I'm checking what is available before contributing a few articles
  • One idea is for an article showing step by step methods for calculating the position of a planet such as Mars using a simple Kepler orbit based on the mean orbital elements. I think that would link in with the Keplers Laws page well, as well as the Newtonian Dynamics and the pages on Copernicus. See my current astronomical calculations pages for examples although I'll need to edit these pages to make them suitably encyclopedic
