"Most Americans think that some of the United States's forty-three Presidents are "great" presidents"
There have only been 42 presidents. Stephen Grover Cleveland was elected the 22nd president, then lost to Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd president, but then beat Harrison to become the 24th presdient. Therefore, George Walker Bush is the 43rd president, but only 42 people have been president.
Also, the line that I quoted seems out of place. I think it should be deleted or changed.

I think that if we're going to keep this, we should move it to a more encyclopedic and neutral title. List of U.S. presidents considered to be the greatest ever would be suggested by precedent, but I hope somebody can come up with a better suggestion. Any ideas? The merge[edit]
I've merged Great American Presidents with Historical rankings of U.S. Presidents. The WSJ survey was already covered at the merge target, so there was no need to move that material. The stuff about currency was original, however, and I did not include it in the merge. In my eyes, at least, that seemed a little speculative, and rested on unproven/uncited (though likely) conjectures, namely that position on currency (especially commonly-used currency) reflects historical ranking accurately and faithfully. I'm not sure we should substantiate this without some sort of citation, so I didn't include it. Feel free to mention it here if you disagree--I'm not firmly attached to the removal, just didn't seem right. Meelar (talk) 15:06, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
