The Defence at the Battle of the First of June, 1794

1794 – French Revolutionary Wars: A British fleet captured six ships of the line from the French in a battle off Ushant (pictured) that came to be known as the Glorious First of June.
1857 – The Revolution of the Ganhadores, the first general strike in Brazil, began in Salvador, Bahia.
1868 – The Navajo tribe and the U.S. government signed an agreement, allowing those interned at Fort Sumner to return to their ancestral lands.
1974 – In an informal article in a medical journal, Henry Heimlich introduced the concept of abdominal thrusts, commonly known as the Heimlich maneuver, to treat choking victims.
1988 – The Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty was ratified, banning all American and Soviet land-based missiles with a range of 500 to 5,500 km (310 to 3,420 mi).

1910 – 'Robert Falcon Scott's South Pole expedition leaves England'. Erm, no it doesn't[edit]

Unless someone has moved Cardiff to England since I last checked, the starting place of the expedition is incorrect. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_Nova_Expedition#First_season.2C_1910.E2.80.9311 The ship sailed from Cardiff, Wales not England. So, it should either be 'sailed from Cardiff, Wales' or 'sailed from the United Kingdom'. Any preferences? Holidays and observations Fei Fei Day[edit]

Fei Fei day is not in perpetuity but only the year she died. I think it is not right here. Could be on 'deaths'?

Error re Scott leaving Cardiff?[edit]

While it says here "1910 – Robert Falcon Scott's second South Pole expedition leaves Cardiff" - the article on the expedition (Terra Nova Expedition) states that "Terra Nova sailed from Cardiff, Wales, on 15 June 1910". This would suggest that either that article is wrong, or that the entry here is in error. Dunarc (talk) 19:58, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
