"Immoral power"[edit]

I understand that there is no other category for the fact that Mr Sinister is immoral, but should it really come under "Notable powers"?

Probably not, especially since circumstances in Colossus: Bloodline led readers to believe that Sinster's powers were waning and needed to be revitalized by a reincarnated Grigory Rasputin. Actually with a name like Sinister it should be obvious that he is immoral, since he cracked the Human and Mutant Genome in the 1800's and built some high tech equipment at the same time, in my opinion he is a top-notch scientist and evil genius in the Dr. Doom level of intelligence at least. He has absorbed the knowledge of many via telepathy and due to his long life has read many books and gained tons of knowledge. In the X-Men Legacy series comics it is revealed that Mr. Sinister uses a Cronos machine that he built in the 1800's that transfers his powers and mind to someone he imprinted his DNA on via experiments. So if he dies, his mind and powers go to whomever the Cronos machine cycles to at that time. Sebastian Shaw was one subject but his father built a cloak, Professor X was another but he fought off Mr. Sinister, eventually Mr. Sinister's mind and powers went into a Claudine Renko who calls herself as Miss Sinister, and feels that she can do better work as a female. She appears to be 18 years old or in her early 20ths and tried to seduce Daken in X-Men Legacy #217 in order to get him to work for Sebastian Shaw. It is unknown if another Cronos device can be built. It is also unknown if Sinister put in an antiaging gene in his DNA like Wolverine has, and that accounts for his long life and legendary rumor of immortality. But my best guess is that Mr. Sinister just goes to a new host body and takes it over or merges with the mind in the body. I'd call it a mind and power transfer as a power that comes from technology and it is not a mutant ability or super power. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.   • That's true, however, IIRC Rogue consciously spared Mystique's life. With Sinister, though, not only was Rogue comatose, but the following issues of MC treated Sinister as being very, very dead. Hence why he didn't get back up, as Mystique has. Of course, it's Marvel, but (for now) Sinister's dead. TheJoust (talk) 21:04, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since when has immorality been a "notable superpower"? Immortal is the only thing that fits there, and I'll have to edit it to get rid of that obvious mistake.

Image[edit]

I don't know a whole lot about Mister Sinister, but I think the main image could be better (maybe something like this[1]). The current one is very dark, dfoes not show a lot of his costume, and due to the shadows etc it is kind of confusing...Davey4

Invunerable?[edit]

I have had an issue with the usage of the word invunerable. By definition invunerable means to be completly impervious to harm. There is no character that is completly invunerable, even the likes of Superman and Thor can still be hurt (granted its way more difficult for them).

In Essex's case the only protection he really has is tougher skin, his healing factor takes care of the rest. The example of him being shot through the head expresses this perfectly. Superhuman durability seems to me to be a better representation of this ability. Please comment. Thefro552 03:41, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Teleportation?[edit]

Sinister has shown the ability to teleport on several occasions: X-Men #23-27-45-52 and Cable #6. In Colossus Bloodlines #5, Mikhail Rasputin mentions that Sinister can teleport. I liked the original article better than this. It was nice to have a reference point for all of his past exploits. This article doesn't do this character justice given the amount of problems he has created for various X-Teams. The original article was terrible. The problem with Sinister's history is that he makes a small appearance in an (X-Men) issue, does SOMETHING bad, but there is hardly much he does worthwhile, aside from what you can see in the article that I left in, nor is there any real conclusion to his schemes. You wiped out mass amounts of information in the past, then recently, after the article grew in size again, mass deleted large amounts as well. [6] Among your deletions I question the following:
This research is valid in the Marvel Universe. He was obsessed with evolution, and first discovered mutations.
He helped create a notable character, the High Evolutionary appearing in many different Marvel comics, and playing a key role in various events. Did his research help Wyndham transform himself? Or would this just show how close they were?
His research was what got the Weapon's X project going. Anything notable the guy did, that affected the Marvel Universe, should be mentioned.

Miss Sinister dead?[edit]

Sorry, but seeing as Mister Sinister has taken so much and survived, no one has any right to assume that Miss Sinister is dead as a result of the latest storyline. He also knows that the Phoenix Five will soon come after him and intends to take the Phoenix energy away from them by using a group of Madelyne Pryor clones.[35] During a meeting of the Extinction Team, the Phoenix Five reveal to Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Danger (who is still controlled by UNIT) that Mister Sinister is the one who told Hope about the Phoenix Force, and ponder on the danger that his goals may represent to the world. The Phoenix Five leave their teammates behind and track Mister Sinister to Anchorage, Alaska (Cyclops's birthplace) finding out that he built his city in the underground tunnels beneath Anchorage. Mister Sinister then orders his clones to enter into war against the Phoenix Five.[36] One by one, the Phoenix Five members are taken down by Mister Sinister's cloned creatures (including a clone of Krakoa) until only Cyclops remains. Shortly after, Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Danger arrive at Mister Sinister's city and find out that their teammates were captured.[37] However, the Phoenix Five were able to escape and decided to kill each and every clone of Sinister, ending the threat he posed to mutantkind.[38] Yet the threat of Sinister still goes on as he had actually at some point murdered Katie Kildare, Cyclops' PR agent, and took her place in Utopia, being the Sinister the Phoenix Five confronted and killed been just another clone of him.

Miss Sinister is a separate character and always has been. Different name, different personality. Extended content

Mister Sinister became an ageless man with chalk-white skin and red eyes. He also gained limited telepathy and a limited form telekinesis, allowing him to project energy attacks. Though he cannot directly control the actions and thoughts of people like some telepaths, he can slightly influence their perceptions, and repeated use of his power on a person can allow him to influence their decisions later in life, causing them to temporarily act against their normal character (though this much influence seems to take years of manipulation). He is also resistant to telepathic probes from others unless he allows such connection to take place (Professor Xavier was not able to scan his mind normally but was able to repress some of Sinister's memories with the villain's permission). As a result of experiments upon himself using genetic material from the mutant Courier, Mister Sinister has complete control of his body at the cellular level, allowing him to shape-shift and regenerate from injury.

According to one story, the mutant Sinister is classified as "Alpha-level."
