Liberal?

Is this the right word? In the sense it is used in th US I guess it fits but in Britain it has generally meant either free-market economic liberalism or centrism. My guess is Steve Bell would describe his politics as social democratic or socialist. EDIT: I'm going to change it. A Geek Tragedy 15:29, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As an article about a cartoon strip that appears in a major British newspaper, the general refrences should be enough. Can we ave this de-tagged? Every fact is verifiable by reference to back issues of The Guardian. Glory311 (talk) 08:18, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
