Hello,

I'm Darius,

I need surgestions for my wife's treatment.

A doctor found the great exces of prolactin in the blood. Doctors suspected tumour in her head, there were no tumour. So the doctor said that it could be the hyperprolactimia, but the are no more signs like milk leaking.

A little of history: From birth she could not drink milk. When she uses milk products there is elergic skin reaction. Also she has a light form of astma. Also no doctor could explane why she has a litle high temperature like 37 celcius permanantly, but she do not feel bad.

So now I have an idea that the test showed macroprolactin.

So the question: Is the excess of macroprolactine is dangerious?

We are trying to get pregnant but the are some problems. Can it be that the cause is excess of macroprolactine?

Darius seems quite concerned for his wife... I feel Jfdwolff that you should have not responded so rudely. If this is not a place for "discussion" of this nature, just say so. Maybe you should not have responded at all. In the same time it took you to write that little note, you could have instead given Darius some positive ideas for his research. I feel that perhaps you like the "sound" of your voice. Shame on you for such an unwelcoming response... I don't even know why you bothered to begin your sentence with "Please". It's really quite sound advice that Darius and his wife really need to discuss this matter with his wife's doctor. No one at Wikipedia can offer any medical advice to them or really be of any assistance: they need to see someone who has access to her test results and can order further evaluation. Darius, you may want to print out this article to bring to the doctor. Macroprolactinemia certainly could be one cause of infertility, but just-plain hyperprolactinemia is a more common cause. There's also these 8 articles. If the doctor is not a specialist in endocrinology, perhaps you could ask for a referral to an endocrinologist. The question Darius needs answered is "why is the prolactin test high?", and so far he doesn't have an answer. Other questions might be "does the CT scan rule out a microadenoma?", "is the result because of macroprolactin?", and "what is the next step we can take to figure out the diagnosis? Allison, no rudeness was intended. I just think Darius was irresponsible publishing quite sensitive personal information on a wide-open forum. With some research, her insurer can now double their health insurance premium.
