Ata'ollah Mohajerani[edit]

Sina, please take a look at Ata'ollah Mohajerani's new article. It needs a little love from you. roozbeh 23:23, Aug 13, 2004 (UTC)

I created a new list, List of Prime Ministers of Iran. It needs your love, specially if you have dates for the Pahlavi era. roozbeh 02:19, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)

This, kisses your hand! ;-) roozbeh 01:09, Nov 14, 2004 (UTC)

I reverted this edit that you made. Please see Talk:Republican/Democrat In Name Only. If you are knowledgeable about the subject or are willing to do the necessary research, perhaps you could help out with that list. ~leifHELO 22:43, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)

The image you uploaded for Nasser Hejazi may not be free for use on Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images). Deciding whether or not it is legal to use the image will require information on where you downloaded it from. If you could provide it, that would be much appreciated. →Iñgólemo← (talk) 17:04, 2004 Dec 18 (UTC)

Hello, Sina, do you know the copyright status on this image? If you can tag it, it'd be muchly appreciated. Thanks for all your contributions! Sarge Baldy 06:43, Dec 31, 2004 (UTC)

Protocolar homage, in this context, not exactly in place[edit]

Sina Jane-e bessiar azeez. Please do reconsider your efforts in including the Style "His Majesty" (correct would actually be "His Imperial Majesty / HIM) in the context of an Encyclopedia. While it is clear that you mean well and are most kind in your devotion to the late sovereign, others, not accustomed to a STYLE in connection with an encyclopedical listing, may perceive this as exaggerated sycophancy. You will surely agree that no Monarch's listing in Wikipedia or any other Encyclopedia is preceded by a protocolar STYLE. Also, if a Style were to be applicable, you would have to insert it in front of EVERY mention of HIM as well as the spouses', offspring and other sovereigns' mentioned. Imagine this article (being of fair and benign character already) inflated by such court protocol. Unfriendly readers would feel invited to post vandalism all the more. yek doost-e (neemche) hamvatan: --Pantherarosa 17:14, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Hi Sina,

Thanx for the message. While I continue adding to the Iranian scientists page (perhaps around 30 people per day or so), could you just copy and paste those names onto the Iranian American page? Damet garm. It's hard for me to keep track of all pages (120 on my watchlist). I'm busy with 5-6 other projects too. If youve noticed, Ive also been adding a few names to the Iranians master list who happen to be Iranian Americans. (non-scientists).

Hopefully, in the near future, this will turn out to be the most comprehensive list of Iranians on the web. But it still needs lots of work.--Zereshk 01:00, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Bill Clinton[edit]

Your account has repeated changed Bill Clinton's birthname, William Jefferson Blythe IV, to William Jefferson Blythe III.

If this was done intentionally, please note http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/bc42.html, which states that "President Clinton was born William Jefferson Blythe IV on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas". -- Znode 06:18, 2005 Jun 3 (UTC)

See Talk:Bill_Clinton#William_Jefferson_Blythe_III_or_IV.3F.21. This is a bigger problem than I thought.
We have clintonlibrary.gov & autobiography & famouspeople.com saying III; meanwhile, whitehouse.gov & britannica.com & encarta.msn.com, friggin authoritative sources by any standard, says it's IV.
We need someone authoritative to answer this. -- Znode 07:27, 2005 Jun 4 (UTC)
Resolved. Authoritatively answered as the III, see Talk:Bill_Clinton#William_Jefferson_Blythe_III_or_IV.3F.21. -- Znode 22:21, 2005 Jun 8 (UTC)

Esteghlal page move[edit]

I've moved the content of this page back to Esteghlal. Copy and paste moves are not recommended, as it breaks the history from the article - while the content is at Esteghlal FC, the history is at Esteghlal. The correct was to move a page is to use the move tab, so that the history is moved too. I've added a request to Wikipedia:Requested moves to get an administrator to do the move properly. sjorford →•← 12:40, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Wikinews[edit]

http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Iran_election_going_to_run-off%2C_challenger_alleges_fraud

As you can see, that article was a pretty sorry attempt compared to the one you've been working on here at Wikipedia. I wonder if you could help us out over at Wikinews so we can have better coverage? --Jpbrenna 05:40, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Why did you change "Lotfi Asker Zadeh" to "Lotfi Askar Zadeh"? I googled "Lotfi Askar Zadeh" and this page (and copies from Wikipedia clones) was almost the only source for this spelling, whereas "Lotfi Asker Zadeh" had over five hundred hits. I understand you are probably familiar with the original writing system the name is in, but for a proper name it is typical on Wikipedia to use the most common spelling. It's also probable that his documentation in the United States has it spelled "Asker", making this this "official" spelling for his particular name in English. Don't get me wrong, I'm not berating or you or anything, I just question this particular change. :) - furrykef (Talk at me) 00:46, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please clarify explicitly that it doesn't air anymore? Your comment is a bit vague. Thanks.—behdad (talk) 22:22, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Penn Iran.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Penn Iran.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Arniep 10:14, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I'm afraid Associated Press images (or any photo agency image) aren't really permitted on Wikipedia as they earn money from these images so I have nominated it for deletion. Arniep 13:24, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

ERP[edit]

Since you have edited Enterprise resource planning, here is a courtesy notification that I have updated the article, and its talk page, since your last activity there. I have tried to repair what I view as an unfortunate WP:POV, or historical bias, but I still need to address a better way to present information about commercial software, open source, and homebrew. Many facts about ERP are true in one of these three main areas, but totally wrong for the others.

I asked about disadvantages style in December 23 section of Help Desk whose first response cautioned risk of WP:NPOV. There is a potential need to show several commonplace WP:POV that can otherwise risk article contamination, if not acknowledged. User:AlMac|(talk) 22:39, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding a website.[edit]

Salam agha sina!

My name is Aytakin and I have been at wikipedia for quite a while now. I have seen the great contributions you have made to articles on the topic of Iran and that is why I am contacting you today. I am wroking on a website (http://www.iranclub.ca] about Iran which will have everything from editorials and deep information on history to current soccer scores and live TV and our own 24/7 radio! I am also working on a wiki[2] for information on everything relating to Iran. I am very much in need of some extra people to help me on this project. If you are intrested please reply, Thank you. --(Aytakin) | Talk 17:10, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

your help[edit]

hi Sina, you voted once to move the Grand Ayatollahs. there is a move to move it back to a normal name, you might want to take a look here Talk:Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani all the way at the bottom, your comments would be greatly appreciated. with kind regards Gryffindor 15:59, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi Sina, I need your help again. If you could take a look here under Talk:Abol-Ghasem Kashani. Maybe it's time we come up with a more specific rule or codification. Gryffindor 01:05, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fatemeh Javadi[edit]

Sina,

Hello... I am curious why you changed Fatemeh Javadi's information to reflect that she is Ayatollah Amoli's "nephew." Did you mean "niece" instead? And if so, where is a source - I'm just curious cause I find her story very interesting... (198.214.51.9 ) Thanks. Take care...

Persians[edit]

The user Aucaman has been vandalizing Persian people, as well as several other Iran-related articles, claiming that "modern Persians are mix of Arabs and Mongols" editing the article, or adding a dispute tag, based on his own personal assumptions and conclusions without any valid source to support such outrageous revisionist theory. If you have an opinion on this topic, please join the Talk:Persian_people, so we can reach a consensus for the removal of the "dispute tag". --ManiF 18:39, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Iranian Watchdog[edit]

Aucaman and a few others like Heja Helweda and Diyako have been repeatedly and systematically vandalizing the Iran-related articles such as Persian people, propagating false information, without one shred of proof to backup their wild claims, applying the strawman falsification approach, trying to establish new 'facts" based on their own personal assumptions and beliefs.

In order to prevent this situation, we need to create an Iranian Watchdog on Wikipedia and guard the integrity and quality of all the Wikipedia articles that are related to Iran and Iranians. Please let me know if you think that's a good idea.

Hi Sina. I also think it is a good idea to set up some kind of project to keep Iranian pages free of such wrongful accusations. What is your opinion?Shervink 19:50, 27 February 2006 (UTC)shervink[reply]
I don't have an exact idea either. It might be good to create a community of interested users who would share their concerns, and of course the work of review and editing errors/falsifications, as it is a fairly big number of articles concerned. The behavior some users are showing towards Iran-related pages has shaken my very belief in the concept of a free encyclopedia! Shervink 21:20, 27 February 2006 (UTC)shervink[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Ahmadinejad01.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ahmadinejad01.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 20:53, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
