Wear[edit]

Wear skirts without panties or pantyhose whenever possible, for example at home or when driving. Sleep without panties: eight hours a day is better than nothing.

Maintaining health[edit]

The following measures are advisable for keeping the vulva and vagina healthy: Washing once a day or so with water but without soap, since soap disturbs the natural pH balance of the vagina.

The vulva should be washed with soap, but not inside the vagina.

"Health!?"[edit]

It looks like a woman nurse started this article and a trained Western (reactive) MD finished it. Where's the health? One or two paragraphs? This article should more properly be called "Vulvovaginal disease" due to both its structural arrangement and content.

I know "health" in the title is in, baby. Nice and comfy too. However, Suggest either a complete rewrite or a rename. OTOH, some fluffy logical gymnastics and terminology renaming might suffice!

Status[edit]

Redirect[edit]

Doc James, regarding this, I understand that the article was poor, but "vulvovaginal health" is about both the vagina and the vulva. So I'll see about creating a well-sourced article for this topic. I was going to suggest that you redirect the page to the Feminine hygiene article until someone creates a well-sourced Vulvovaginal health article, but that article is only about products for feminine hygiene. Looking at sources already, this 2015 "Normal Vulvovaginal Health in Adolescents" one states that, "Most medical literature on vulvovaginal health focuses on abnormalities." This is what I've seen as well. It seems like most of the literature on vulvovaginal health is about vulvar disease, vaginal disease, and vaginal discharge (which is an aspect of vaginal disease when the focus is on abnormal discharge). But, again, I'll see what I can do in creating an article for the topic, or redirecting it elsewhere. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 08:27, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This was a mess of unsupported how to advice. We could turn it into a disambig that links to vulvar disease, vaginal disease, and vaginal discharge.
