Could we just change this to U.S. colloboration of the week. I'm really not sure the Northeastern U.S. needs to be separated out, and I think there's a lot more to focus on if we extend the reach of this COTW...

No. America is a very big country, and the South is unique enough to have its own. I mean, I don't think the North has had folklore and the like. Mike H 10:45, Oct 21, 2004 (UTC)

Northern?[edit]

Judging by the map, this should be northeastern. States not included on the map: Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota and Michigan have boundaries that reach farther north than Maine. Scope[edit]

I see that Falphin's rejuvenation of this page has set it unambiguously to include both the Midwest and the Northeast, being the somewhat archaic Civil War definition of "the North". Should these stay together? I'm not sure myself, mainly because I am reluctant to spread this too thin.--Pharos 19:44, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I believe they stay together until a midwest section is created. I was using the Northern United States definition the previous was Northeastern United States. While in time if the North and South are successful I would support removing the Mid-Western States and creating a new Mid-West COTW but I believe we should wait to see if the two work first.
