Taoistic refferences?[edit]

It would be interesting to see at least some mention of the refferences to taoism fitted into the article, as the name "The one" itself, seems to be a vague refference to taoistic ideals, along with ideas of harmony and preservation between positive and negative (they could be reversed), and some notions including the protagonist winning in the end through a martial arts style that "flows" as opposed to Yu Law's direct confined style, focing action to occur. There's also quite a few yin yangs in the film... -Tiak 00:00, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MVA Personnel and Interdimensional Offenders really necessary?[edit]

This article is full of stuff about MVA Personnel and offenders, none of which is even mentioned in the film. I assume the information comes from DVD bonus features. The section takes up a lot of space, and uses trivial information which really isnt all that important. I find no reason to keep it here. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.250.114.226 (talk) 08:23, 30 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Not even the DVD. I remember reading that from the movie's website/

Good movie, but the article needs a major haircut[edit]

The impact of this movie on society is not worthy of more than a page or two of relevent details. If no one else does it, I'll be the barber.Landroo (talk) 14:40, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia?[edit]

Im a big fan of random movie trivia, and usually wiki helps in that department. Is the hospital the same hospital from Scrubs? I just noticed the side enterance when the laws are escaping looks like the same side enterance as in scrubs (where JD parks his scooter). Just a thought. Also has a cameo of Mark Borchardt of American Movie fame. ~Cryonix —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.22.7.189 (talk) 21:18, 3 June 2008 (UTC) The movie also stole a prominent line from the "Highlander" TV series, "There can be only one." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.243.80.58 (talk) 01:49, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is from there here is what is on the North Hollywood Medical Center wiki page.

The hospital has also been used in the following:

Fair use rationale for Image:The One poster.JPG[edit]

Image:The One poster.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Influence by Max Stirner[edit]

Did anyone besides me notice the innuendos to The Ego and Its Own? I have seen the German dubbed version. Yu-Law last words are:

Ich bin der Einzige. Ich unterwerfe mich niemandem.

Which translates to:

I’m the sole one. I won’t bow to anyone.

The whole film doesn’t contradict this interpretation, too. “Nothing is more to me than myself!” could be the motto of Yu-Law. --mms (talk) 09:07, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Extremely fast projectiles[edit]

Just curious, how were the hand guns of the MVA clarified as firing "extremely fast projectiles"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mailedbypostman (talkcontribs) 21:15, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

At Least 126 Universes[edit]

I think there should be a note on this page about the number of different universes. There are at least 126, the 123 victims of YuLaw, YuLaw himself, Gab Law and the first 'Law' that YuLaw killed. As stated in the movie YuLaw was forced to kill one of other selves in alternate universe and as such this one would not have been included in his 123 victims. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.37.149.142 (talk) 16:59, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does every universe have a doppelganger of YuLaw? Why only 126? Why any specific number at all? It is a random choice on the part of the movie script to suggest that they KNOW YuLaw and Gabe are the last ones left. And what was the universe they sent Gabe Law back to? One where there was no known doppelganger? Hard to make a solid comment on this in the entry, when it isn't at all clear in the movie. Shoe (talk) 01:31, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possible soundtrack error?[edit]

I have bought and watched the uncut Blu-ray edition of the movie. Neither did I hear Linkin Park's "Papercut" in the movie, nor was it listed in the credits of the movie. Could somebody confirm the soundtrack listed in this article with a source? This same claim is also existent on the song's article. --94.222.34.208 (talk) 12:11, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Probably a bit late of a reply, but I removed that track from the list. Govvy (talk) 16:20, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MVA Agents[edit]

I deleted the info regarding all of the MVA agents, as none of that information appears in the film (as far as I'm aware), and doesn't really contribute to the article. If anything, it reads like fanfiction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.229.247.156 (talk) 04:50, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I re-removed the section, someone reinserted it.CaptainMurphy1989 (talk) 23:13, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Setting[edit]

Briefly checked the article. I was searching for - in which year AD (by "our universe") the events are taking place. It can be considered trivia, but some people might consider it more closely relevant. Watching The Terminator, or Alien, you can see the timeline reference. And here, too, and everywhere as well, one could draw a certain "fictional timeline" or events depicted in movies. Does anybody know the time-set? Lincoln J.
